The extreme sports channel has announced that they will be airing a new TV series that will show professional gaming events across the globe. The first programme in the series titled "Pro Videogaming: Xbox Cup" is a four and half hour live show from the Adidas World of Football in Berlin this Saturday July 1st. The broadcast will feature the finale of the Xbox Cup, a global competition which has gamers from all over the world competing to win the virtual World Cup.

The second show of the series will be on the 13th of August and will feature British fashion and videogame event label Joystick Junkies in the Pro Videogaming: Project Gotham Racing 3 tournament at the Ripspeed Donny car show in the UK. Hundreds of UK gamers will compete in the UK's first live televised pro-racing games tournament. They face seven days of gruelling heat on Xbox Live. And then in the morning, at Ripspeed Donny, the final 16 competitors will be pitting their racing skills against the creme de la creme of UK gaming talent.

I've never watched a gaming tournament on TV before, but I think this will be an interesting thing to tune in to. Even if the gamers aren't that good, you can always ogle at the graphical perfection of PGR3.
