Koei's new game Warriors Orochi has gone gold and will be reaching the U.S. on September 18 for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 2. Warriors Orochi is part of Koei's continued line that delves into the legends and histories of the ancient Eastern Civilization. This time, Warriors Orochi crosses the universes of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. Warriors Orochi features a legendary line-up of 77 playable characters from both games to battle the Serpent King, Orochi. Using his powers, Orochi tore through time and space to kidnap the legendary heroes of Ancient China and Feudal Japan. The video game from Koei features co-op play and will give players a chance to pit their favorites from both games against each other. Here are some screenshots from Warriors Orochi! Enjoy the sword-slashing fun, people!

Koei today announced that it is expanding its Warriors video game franchise once more with the introduction of Warriors Orochi. In this new title, the universe of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors will collide and unite this coming September 18 on the Xbox 360 as well as on PlayStation 2 (PS2).
The premise of Orochi is that the evil Serpent King Orochi descended from the skies above. He has the power to manipulate time and space so he kidnapped the strongest, wisest and most courageous warriors from Ancient China and Feudal Japan. The remaining ones must then unite to fight the King. As a preview, we have below a lot of screenshots and a piece of artwork for Warriors Orochi. Before that though, here are some of the game's features as provided by Koei itself:

The game includes 4 scenarios to unlock, 2-Player Co-Op play in "Empire" and "Free" modes, new items to unlock, and ruthless control of over 200 officers! The game has detailed Encyclopaedia containing the real history of Ancient China. So you can tell your folks it's an educational tool as well. "Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires on Xbox 360," say its developers KOEI, "will be the most visually astounding game in the hugely popular Dynasty Warriors series to date." That's quite a mouthful of hype. Check out the screen and see hints of that promise fulfilled.
