Whether you like video game-based movies or not, "Resident Evil: Extinction" is well on its way. September 21 is right around the corner, and we can expect aggressive marketing before the fated day comes. To promote the movie, Sony unleashed a hot BMW motorcycle at Comic-con.

Zombie Violence... rawr - Image 1

Because of the "Zombie Violence" tag, let's just call it that. The decals look sweet and all, the polish is perfect, and the whole thing looks like a beast, but we'd sell a dozen Ducati to the junkyard just to get a bike with Resident Evil on it. Watching the movie is an entirely different issue.

First set of cars for Need For Speed ProStreet - Image 1Electronic Arts recently gave out the the first car list for its video game Need For Speed ProStreet, and its looking pretty sweet. Each car is said to be "selected for a reason", whether because it is "unique, aspirational, memorable or highly desirable".

A big addition to the car list is the
Nissan GT-R PROTO (pictured at right). This is the first time it has ever been featured in any game. It was first revealed at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and really turned heads when it came out.

Another car that most people would probably want to take a spin in is the 2008 BMW M3. Personally, I'd still go for the 1999 Mazda RX-7, but then I've always been a Mazda fanboy. Anyway, we're sure most of you are pretty excited about the selection so here's the list.

First car list for Need For Speed ProStreet:
  • Nissan GT-R PROTO
  • 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
  • 1995 Mazda RX-7
  • 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
  • 2006 Audi S4
  • 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS AE86
  • 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer EVOLUTION IX MR-edition
  • 2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI
  • 2008 BMW M3
Need For Speed ProStreet is slated for release on the PSP, PS2, PS3, Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PC, and Mobile this year. Keep checking back for more updates on this game.

PGR 4 this Autumn - Image 1

Microsoft Games Studios and Bizarre Creations are really doing a good job in hiding Project Gotham Racing 4 under the fog of secrecy. Unlike other video games, there have been no other source of information save from the two aforementioned companies. It's a good thing the updates for this racing video game are getting more frequent recently.

Just today, Microsoft Games Studios and Bizarre Creations released the partial roster of real-life cars that will be featured in Project Gotham Racing 4. Before this, the only car known to be in that list is Flux - the car designed by a fan and won the recent Peugeot Concept Car Making Contest. Anyway, some of the iconic cars to careen in the game are as follows:
  • '62 Ferrari 250 GTO
  • '67 Toyota 2000GT
  • '78 Lamborghini Countach LP400
  • '98 Subaru Impreza 22B STi
  • '04 BMW M5
  • '07 Ruf RGT 997
  • '07 Lotus GT3RR
Microsoft and Bizarre also divulged that the recent gameplay video for PGR4 was actually their rendition of the beautiful cityscape of Nurburgring. Also, there will be a total of 10 different other locations for the title, two of which include streets of North in Quebec and St. Petersburg.

Project Gotham Racing 4 should be available some time this Autumn.

You've seen the trailer for the game and you've even seen it compared to another game of the same genre (oh the flames), but just in case you haven't had the time to enjoy the demo of the game on Xbox Live, then here's the next best thing. Below is a video of Forza Motorsport 2. It showcases what a Mercedes and a BMW do best in this game: drive around in circles.

Nice sky, nice reflections on the cars, amazing lighting, and nice tire tracks on the ground. What feels wrong about it? Well, just to be extra nitpick-y, the grass isn't all that nice. But who cares? It's not as if you'll be playing this game and spending 40 or so minutes staring at grass, and besides, it's probably just the video compression on the embed that's ruining Forza Motorsport 2's graphic beauty.

The game should be on shelves in a little over a week on May 29.

Now that we've dished out what the Italian auto manufacturers have to offer, we will now talk about the cars of Forza 2 from the German car-makers - Volkswagen and BMW.

TDUIf you could test drive any car in the world, what would it be and where would you take it? Would you choose a Ferrari? A BMW or a Lexus perhaps? Whatever you answer is, we suggest you really think about it first and keep it well below 25 words. Why? Because the ten most creative and interesting answers are going to win a copy of Test Drive Unlimited. No joke, ask Atari if you want. They're the ones who came up with this.

The contest is currently underway and will end on October 22. Everyone around the world are invited to give it a try. Interested parties can visit the contest official site here. Test Drive Unlimited is the newest and most innovative online racing game from Atari to date. It is set in Hawaii and integrates the single and multiplayer mode seamlessly, as it allows players to challenge others in real time.
