Awww... so it was a professional production after all. I was ready to give those "neighborhood kids" a boxload of Mario stars for the superb "Bike Hero" clip they did for Guitar Hero: World Tour (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii), until Activision told the bursting-your-bubble-truth about the pros behind this smart marketing scheme of theirs. Revelation spins after the jump. |

The Crisis Core week has landed! And what better way to to prep you up for Square Enix's latest game on the PSP? Remember Monty Oum's CGI fanvid from a few months ago where hot babes Tifa, Rikku, and Yuna of Final Fantasy and Kasumi, Ayane, and Hitomi of Dead or Alive were pitted against each other in a Brawl - err, brawl, rather? Well, today we've got the sequel to that! And it's packing quite a punch with three new characters that jump into the fray. Who, you ask? Ah, well, sorry... No spoilers! Read more for the video. |

It looks like the devs over at Ninja Theory are looking to follow up on Heavenly Sword in more ways than one. In a recent interview, studio lead Nina Kristensen revealed that it's quite possible for her firm to put together a CGI movie that will go with their next game set for the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360. If that made you curious, see the full story right after the jump. |

Taking a page from Square Enix's successful release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" a couple of years back, Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced plans to release their own full-length CGI movie based on the hit Resident Evil (a.k.a. Biohazard in Japan) franchise. The movie will be titled "Biohazard: Degeneration", and will be the first full-length CG animation movie feature based on the popular video game series of games and movies. Many will recognize Resident Evil for establishing the survival horror game genre and its many successful titles across multiple platforms since it was first released in 1996. The latest iteration to the series, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, marks the continuation of the video game franchise and shows no sign of stopping any time soon. Following a successful spin-off on the silver screen, the trilogy of films produced and directed by Paul Anderson was well received by movie and video game buffs everywhere, with each movie grossing over US$ 100 million at the international box office. With Sony's and Capcom's announcement of this newest offspring for the series, fans of Resident Evil will definitely be watching out for this latest cinematic experience. No news on the characters or its plot in the complicated timeline of the Resident Evil series have been announced, but we're keeping our eyes open for any new developments from the two companies. Biohazard: Degeneration is currently in production and set to be released in 2008. |

We've been inundated with videos of Harmonix' rhythm game of epic proportions, Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360) in action. This next one, courtesy of the good people over at Gametrailers, shows something just a bit different: a CGI sequence of a band rocking out with Deep Purple's masterpiece, Highway Star - all while blasting through a highway in breakneck speeds. Yes, they're actually playing their instruments on top of a speeding vehicle. Kids, don't try this at home.
While we're not sure that Rock Band itself offers the kind of gameplay that this trailer shows - after all, who wouldn't want to jam with your best friends on top of a skidding, sliding car? - it does put across the fact that playing in a rock band is awesome. Rhythm games have always been about being good at one single instrument, being a one-man superstar band. While the spotlight does feel good all on your lonesome, there's nothing quite like rocking out with your best pals. Share the euphoria and all. Embed's below, you know what to do. Enjoy! |

If you thought getting knocked out by a famous Shotokan fighter's fireballs hurt, it pales in comparison to the uncompromising violence and brutality of a point-blank hook to the jaw.
Featuring the most realistic-looking (and by realistic, yours truly means the most wince-inducing) graphics to date, here's the E3 trailer of the upcoming Ultimate Fighting Championship 2009 by THQ. We give you the skinny on what's happening in the octagon of brutality that's headed to the PS3 and Xbox 360. In this video, we see famous UFC fighters Rampage and the Iceman trying to make pita bread out of each other's faces, as well as basically try and see whose skeletal system would crumble into tiny bite-sized pieces first. We see a painful knee to the hip area, vicious shots to the jaw and temple, ring-shaking slams, and a classic takedown being turned into a powerbomb. Ouch. Of course, the video looks to be CGI, but here's hoping the actual gameplay would look just as smooth and as seamless. Enjoy the video. |
