The video below is about the upcoming video game Spider-Man 3 (360, PS3, PC, Wii). What exactly about Spider-Man, you ask? Well, pretty much everything you need to know. Because you see, it is a behind-the-scenes trailer video containing snippets from the brilliant people over at Treyarch and Activision.

For example, Executive Producer Chris Archer talked about how their team came up with the concept for the new title. He shared that they reviewed the past games, movies, and even re-read the comic books. They took what's good about them, improved them a bit, and incorporated every single one into this title.

Also, Lead Designer Chad Moore talked about the game's graphics. According to him, the character model in Spider-Man 2 was created using 4,500 to 5000 polygons. The new title uses approximately 55,000 polygons. We really learned a lot watching this video clip so we suggest you watch it, too!

Spider-Man 3 - Image 1With the much awaited Spider-Man 3 movie swinging into theaters this May 4, fans will also be looking forward to the parallel release of the movie's game versions. In line with the movie's imminent release, Activision has stepped to state that the games will offer more than just an interactive adaptation of the film.

"The movie story line is only one of 10 story lines we have in the game," said Activision's global brand management VP Rob Kostich. It will be remembered that Activision's Chris Archer made a similar statement, along with details on the dev team's major revisions to the game to ensure it carried the movie's cinematic experience.

Another detail mentioned was the game's use of the movie's original voice cast. "Having the actors in the game adds to the authenticity of the experience and really brings it to life," said Kostich, further detailing that the movie's cast lent their voice roles for the game shortly after the movie's filming schedule concluded.

Aside from Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man/Peter Parker), other voice talents expected to be heard in the games are James Franco (Harry Osborn/New Goblin), Topher Grace (Eddie Brock/Venom), Thomas Haden Church (Flint Marco/Sandman), J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson), and Bruce Campbell (narrator).

The game version of Spider-Man 3 is expected to launch on multiple platforms: the PlayStation 3 (PS3), the Xbox 360, the Wii, the PlayStation 2 (PS2), the PC, the PlayStation Portable (PSP), the Nintendo DS and the Game Boy Advance (GBA).

What's worse than having a fight with your best friend? Probably having your best friend turn into a villain and start to consider you as his archnemesis. With that said, Peter Parker really has it bad on Spider-Man 3.

Meet Harry Osborn. As you all know, he's the son of the Green Goblin - Norman Osborn. After his father dies at the hands of Spider-Man, he becomes bent on having his revenge on the webslinger. He turns into the New Goblin after having a hallucination and finding his father's secret armory of - err... exploding pumpkins. In a previous video interview, Chris Archer revealed that the New Goblin will be playable in the PS3 Spider-Man 3 Collector's Edition.

Anyway, back to the video. We see the New Goblin and Peter Parker slugging it out. That's as much as we can say for now but stay tuned for more Spider-Man 3 updates. To keep you occupied for now, enjoy the video!

In a video interview with Chris Archer, Executive Producer of Activision's Spider-Man 3 (the game not the movie), the efforts that the developers took to improve the game was detailed.

He noted their overhaul of the combat system and the inclusion of more web-based attacks and more aerial combat. He also noted their efforts to improve the boss fights and make the difficulty level of the game feel more apt.

Chris Archer also said that the developers took their time to make the game feel more cinematic, this means that that they took the the storytelling style of the movie storyline and they also added that flavor to the nine other story-lines (featuring Scorpion and Lizard) they included into the game. They also made the camera "swing" more just like in the movies, to give the user a sense of thrill and speed when web-swinging around the city - which is the largest they've put into any game so far.

Archer says what's in store for PlayStation 3 gamers when they get the Collectors Edition version of the game. He notes that the Goblin is playable, and that his flight controls involve the SIXAXIS' tilt-sense.

Spider-Man 3 the game is set to be released in time with the movie. For those of you who don't speak geek, that means May 4, 2007.

Black-suit Spider-Man - Image 1In a Team Xbox interview, Treyarch's Executive Producer">Chris Archer, Spider Man 3's executive producer at Treyarch, gives us a brief rundown of the upcoming videogame's - Spider-Man 3 - gameplay. Archer says it's both a huge game and a huge movie, coming up this May 2007, with a host of new features including the most expensive Manhattan they've ever created for a Spider-Man game. We've covered it before, but what else is there to look forward to in Spider-Man 3?

Chris says there's a whole new combat system in the game, including melee, aerial and web attacks, with combos, chain combos and charge attacks, and super meter. Spidey also has an all-new swinging system with added functionality and features.

The Spider Sense has also been improved, instead of just looking at point-of-interest icons, the Spider Sense will now allow you to see enemies, interactive objects, and other points of interest from 1000 feet away, enabling you to see what they're doing and get to them very quickly without focusing on navigation.

There are also these "cineractives", putting the game into movie-like moments, almost like you're playing in the actual movie. There are 10 storylines, ranging from movie content to original material created for the game. And then of course, there's black-suit Spider-Man. Black Spidey can go into "rage mode" that can be charged up in three different ways - doing combos, by taking hits and manually, or by throttling the button.

When asked if there's any other character playable than the red and the black Spider-Man, Chris said that he can't actually tell, but we'll hear something about it eventually. We'll be dishing out updates as soon as we get our hands on them.
