Following yesterday's Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition announcements, here's a trailer for Lost in Nightmares, the first new episode to be released. Come back to the Spencer estate and be regaled with Chris and Jill's astute observations regarding cranks in the vid after the jump.

The upcoming Resident Evil: Afterlife sees the return of the cast from the last movie, welcoming Wentworth Miller to play Chris Redfield. Wouldn't be much of a Chris appearance if his ol' partner Jill isn't gonna be there for the ride, yes? A Tweet from none other than Milla Jovovich tells us that it's quite possible. Despite being a no-show in Extinction, Sienna Guillory may be coming back to play Jill Valentine.

The next Resident Evil movie, dubbed Resident Evil: Afterlife, has now been announced and production has begun in Toronto, Canada. Milia Jovovich will be returning as the overpowered, zombie-pwning Alice, while Claire Redfield will still be played by Ali Larter. The rest of the ol' crew will be meeting again on-set, but they will be joined by a new face - Wentworth Miller, who will play Chris Redfield.

Though not an entirely new concept, applying smell-technology to video games is damned cool - at least of course, until they start applying the same smelly tech to Resident Evil or some such. But anyway, yes, smell-tech is slowly wafting its way to video games, and a team from the University of Birmingham is doing just that!

The Resident Evil series has been known for unlockable alternate costumes for its playable characters. The latest in the franchise is no exception. Resident Evil 5 will be getting unlockable attires. Here we have screencaps from BioHazard 5, showing Sheva's unlockable attire. Whoever took these screenshots sure had some creative angles, making sure that we got all our bases covered (figuratively).

Ah, the plot thickens. The latest viral campaign episode for Resident Evil 5 is out and about, this time it's got Claire Redfield. What's she doing here, don't ask me. It's a viral clip and answers aren't all that a priority here. Let's hope finally getting to play the game does tie everything up though.

At the last Tokyo Game Show, Capcom showed footage of Resident Evil 5, which ended with a shot of Jill Valentine's tombstone. If you remained hopeful that Capcom was just pulling your leg and didn't kill off Jill, I have some bad news for you.

Two new Resident Evil 5 vids! These clips follow this whole mysterious viral campaign from Capcom. It's got the cryptic "They're in Kijuju" message, plus a look into a live-action Chris Redfield freaking out in the middle of a speech. Weird weird weird. It reminds me of the Resistance 2 viral ad campaign with Katie Sackoff. Here's hoping things eventually get explained.

With the Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 demo already available in Japan, Capcom's now also released a new TV commercial. It's pretty short - clocking in at only 30 seconds. Not to say there's isn't a lot to see though. We see more clips from some of the cutscenes in the game. Of course, this being the next friendly reunion between Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker, there's that required showdown scene to boot. "Time to die, Chris!"
