Is the ambitious episodic series project of Microsoft, in partnership
with Peter Jackson, canceled? The director characterized the endeavor
at the Comic-Con event as "no longer happening" while Microsoft refuses
to call it quits, saying instead that it is "on hold." |

At the New York Comic-Con last year, Top Cow Productions teased gamers
with the possibility that the follow-up to their shooter, The Darkness (PS3 and Xbox 360),
is in the works. But we didn't hear anything from them regarding this
for a while (15 long months to be exact), until this year's Comic-Con,
that is. |

If you're working on a game that highlights the nine circles of hell,
you may very well expect debauchery to ensue, at least as far as the
storyline or gameplay will go. But having said that, it does not
necessarily follow that you'll have a free pass here on Earth when
marketing such said game. Electronic Arts should have probably known
that from the onset, but I guess they were busy getting all excited
about sinning to win. Their newest marketing ploy for Dante's Inferno (PS3, PSP, Xbox 360) launched at the Comic-Con was quite a controversial one, requiring them to make an apology to the offended public. |

It may not sound like much, but anyone who's ever gone through name studies before would find that the simple task of coming up with a name is actually quite a handful. Back at the Comic-Con, South Park Digital's Chris Brion tells his story and how the South Park TD game was named the way we know it now - South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! Article contains language unsuitable for minors. |

While the games side of the Microsoft news isn't the best we've seen,
the industry certainly brings a lot of issues to the table for
Microsoft and the Xbox 360. There's the matter of disc space
limitation, a possible handheld that might not pull its weight, and the
ever-present dig into the power of Project Natal. For all that and
more, simply read on for the Xbox 360 Weekend Warrior. |
