When your video game is all about the evils that will land you in hell, expect controversies and uproar left and right. This is true for Electronic Arts' video game interpretation of the Divine Comedy, Dante's Inferno (PS3, PSP, Xbox 360). Their latest predicament involves a nanny group not being so happy about the game's "Bad Nanny" achievement.

Electronic Arts has detailed the launch DLC line up for BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins. Similar to what Microsoft and Turn 10 are doing for Forza Motorsport 3, this seems like a plan to trip up used game sales. Details after the jump.

The ratings from ESRB for games Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360, PC) and Kamen Rider are out, and needless to say, they've gone the unconventional route of providing rating descriptions with a whole lot of italics for emphasis, and ellipses for dramatic pauses.

We've got an even spread of game releases for this week's batch of On Shelves games, including a couple of downloadable ones. Big for handhelds this week would be Capcom's and Namco Bandai's brawler offerings on the PSP, Fate/Unlimited Codes (available via PSN) and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, respectively. With summer about to end, it's nice to know that we're getting more company for the Fall as big game titles start to emerge. Topping the list this week are two big titles, each for consoles and for the PSP handheld. Batman: Arkham Asylum is set to grace North American PS3s and Xbox 360s, while Dissidia: Final Fantasy is weaving its magic on the PSP -- both on the same day, Tuesday. Amidst the usual barrage of less-than-note-worthy DS titles, this week's big release is the sequel to the 2001 FPS Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Hitler's got the usual evil army, and it's gonna be up to you to infiltrate and beat them from the inside. Around a month ago, the ESRB broke word of Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge for PS3 and Xbox 360. While it did raise some hopes that the Uprising expansion would be made available to console gamers, an official announcement from Electronic Arts has confirmed that only the Commander's Challenge mode will be making the jump.

Finally, a game that everyone is definitely waiting for: Madden NFL 10. We' have some lackluster stand alone games the few weeks past, but not anymore. Starting this week, you're finally gonna get all the field action you've been longing for. Not only that, this whole week of August 9th to 15th seems to well-represented, with various games sprinkled all throughout the different days. Check out the list after the jump.
