The next patch for Ensemble Studios' Halo Wars is about to roll out in a couple more weeks, and pretty quickly too, considering that this will be the third update for the game in a mere three months. Their official website has listed the changes for this latest update, and once again, it includes balance changes, as well as a few bug fixes to get rid of exploits. Patch list after the jump.

The RTS installment of the Halo franchise, Halo Wars, is about to get new gameplay modes with the announcement of the Strategic Options add-on pack from Ensemble Studios. This pack features three new game modes that are designed to challenge players with new tactical objectives to keep you on their toes. Details inside.

It's bug-squishing time for Ensemble Studio's Halo Wars title. According to their site, information will be released over the next few weeks. No specific date's been set yet as to when it's rolling out, but the said Title Update is said to contain fixes for matchmaking bugs, as well as balances in gameplay.

Not about to rest on their laurels, Ensemble Studios adds another halo to their Halo franchise as Halo Wars adds another accolade to an already-long list after having reached one million copies of the game. In three weeks. Solid!

Hah, Microsoft, who needs 'em? A number of veterans from Ensemble Studios are picking up where they left off after being shut down when Halo Wars was completed. They formed a new studio called Robot Entertainment. More in the full article.

Ensemble Studios officially closed its doors last week, and Gamasutra was there for a final tour. They also report on the never-to-be Halo MMO, which turns out was a very serious project for Microsoft. Serious enough to actually start building Ensemble a campus to support it.

It's on a bittersweet note I tell you guys that Halo Wars has gone gold. Ensemble Studios' final work is en route for its release date on March 3, with the demo coming on February 5. A new behind-the-scenes documentary series was also launched for the game.

Unless you haven't heard, Ensemble Studios - the guys behind the Age of Empires franchise - will be closing once they finish work on Halo Wars. Dave Pottinger, Ensembles' director of tech, says Microsoft's decision to close the studio "doesn't make a lot of sense."
