In a speech delivered in the event celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the NAACP, President Barack Obama calls upon parents to "put away the Xbox," so the kids can hit the sack at a reasonable hour. This won't certainly be the first time that Obama throws a metaphorical sidewinder against gaming, but this time, his comment gets a formal reply. Catch what Microsoft said after the jump.

The London Movie Comic Media Expo isn't known for its gaming section, with much of its attendees preferring other forms of entertainment. But all that's gonna change this year, or improve at the very least, because apart from the support of some of today's A-list publishers, the London MCM Expo is attempting to set the World Record for "largest number of people in costume for a video game."

Year of the PS3? Who knows, but the 360 keeps on doin' it's thing, putting out hit after hit after hit. '08 was another banner year for the console that's grown in leaps and bounds. It was tough, but we've picked our favorite games of the year.

Johnny Rotten may think of Guitar Hero 3 as a joke, but some guitar teachers would probably disagree. Dan Emery, owner of the New York City Guitar School, says that the game's popularity may truly motivate fans to learn the guitar for themselves.

Some guitar teachers, however, are worried that the game may actually kill interest in learning the real thing since people would find that playing a real guitar is harder than playing on a console. More in the full article.
