Microsoft has completed another system update, and those connected to Xbox Live should be prompted to accept the mandatory update any time now, if they haven't gotten it already. Hold yer horses, though, young'un, this ranch ain't ridin' them fancy Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm, and Zune features just yet.

If there's anyone in the industry with such vocal, unwavering loyalty and confidence in his brand, it's Aaron Greenberg. Leave it to Microsoft's director of product management to turn an interview into an elaborate sales pitch. Despite the Xbox 360's current position in the sales department, Greenberg remains absolutely confident that they will still come out on top.

Those with a PS3 may be thrilled with the major exclusives arriving in the last quarter of the calendar, but leave it to Aaron Greenberg to shrug the incoming threats off and keep his confidence on the Xbox 360. In his interview with Eurogamer, Microsoft's director of product management explains that there's no need for Microsoft to worry about the PS3 exclusives since they're very much in shape against the competition.

Microsoft has announced that Xbox 360 owners will be able to download the new dashboard update starting next month. The update will add new features such as improved Netflix support, the Games on Demand service, and the Avatar Marketplace.

It was another frenzied week for the Xbox 360 blog, with beat-'em-up fighters and persistent zombies taking the lead in news items. It's over. It's done. E3 2009 has come and gone, and the worldwide gaming community is left to sift through the announcements, reveals, videos, hype and promises that came out of the yearly gaming expo this past week.

A few weeks ago, there I was, thinking that the PS3 might get the Facebook feature. But with this announcement, Microsoft beats Sony to the punch in sealing the deal, plus Twitter and Last.FM, further upping the Xbox 360's repertoire of web services.

More than two weeks would still have to pass before the Market for Home Computing & Video Games Industry Excellence Awards (MCV Awards) happens, but the event has already sold out. To be attended by over 600 industry executives from all aspects of the gaming industry, the prestigious awards honors excellence across 15 categories.

The event will be held at the London's Brewery venue in Chiswell Street on Thursday April 19th. It will start with pre-event drinks at The King's Head, Chiswell Street from 5 pm, care of Sennheiser and Gem Distribution. At 6pm, a champagne reception sponsored by IGA Worlwide will follow, and then the awards proper happens.

Sounds like a lot of boozing, huh? Well, the event is a celebration, as the industry itself chooses the winners of the awards. MCV Awards recognizes effort, innovation and commercial success. Every major company will be attending the event. Pub landlord at the London's Brewery Al Murray will even be performing, so you can expect more to be there because of them.

There are 17 coveted awards to be competed for by the finalists. The categories include awards for Star Store, Games Publisher, Marketing Team, Sales Team and Game Campaign. The event is sponsored by Xbox 360, Nintendo, Nvidia, Kiss FM, System 3, Mice Domino and GamerTV.
