Adding DLC on Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) is not the only thing that Square Enix is taking into consideration. Yoshi Kitase reveals that they are in fact considering putting downloadable content to future Final Fantasy titles. Read more after the jump.

During last month's GamesCom, Sony claimed that it had already sold 10 million units in PAL territories after Microsoft previously announced that it had sold over 9 million units of Xbox 360 in Europe. But now, Microsoft claims that the Xbox 360 still maintains a one million unit advantage over Sony's PS3. Well here we go again...

With GamesCom out of the way, there's still another big gaming event on the calendar: the Tokyo Game Show. For this year's TGS, Sega will be showing off a pretty balanced lineup that includes handheld sequel Valkyria Chronicles 2, the PS3 and Xbox 360 RPG End of Eternity, and PS3 exclusive Yakuza 4.

Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) is still far from release but already Square Enix is eyeing the possibility of prepping DLC for the game. Speaking to RPG Site after GamesCom 2009, Yoshinori Kitase confirmed that they are indeed exploring that possibility.

Exciting past couple of weeks, eh? The price cuts mad rush continued on this week with Microsoft joining in on the bandwagon. Meanwhile, Nintendo's sitting prettily and quietly, choosing the status quo, because, hey, they're on top in the status quo. Wouldn't want to change a thing about that now, would you? It's also one event after the another, from E3 to GamesCom to upcoming PAX and TGS. If this does not revive interest in the industry, I don't know what will. We had E3, then GamesCom, then PAX is coming up next, and then right after that, we have Tokyo Game Show! It's events season alright, and every time we can't wait to see what the pubs and devs are bringing along with them to show off to us. Capcom's got their list down pat already, so it seems. Via their Unity twitter, they've announced that they have "several" new game announcements in store. It sure is nice to see that they're always kept busy for our entertainment.

Just last month, Ubisoft gave out a wishy-washy statement regarding Beyond Good & Evil 2. Today, Gamersyde has tweeted that they have indeed gotten confirmation from the recently-concluded GamesCom in Cologne that the game is indeed on hold.

Microsoft may not have said anything about it during GamesCom, but it seems a price cut is still a go for the Xbox 360. In fact, if a new Target ad is to be believed, both the Pro and Elite models will be getting their retail prices slashed.

The recently wrapped-up GamesCom definitely heated up headlines the past few days, especially with the announcement of the price cut and the confirmation of the PS3 Slim. It wasn't all about Sony though - exhibitors, trade visitors, and attendees alike were all happy with the event, which spanned from August 19-23. With 245,000 people all checking out the latest in gaming, who wouldn't be?

GamesCom sure did not disappoint this week, although it did color our front page purple for the most part. No doubt about it, Sony ruled the spotlight this past week, and there's even no point saying otherwise. Fanboy or not, plain fact is that Sony was responsible for probably 80% of the gaming-related activity on the Internet this week.
