PS3 - Image 1The NPD results are out for the month of September, and look at what we have here! A mighty and proud showing of PS3 sales finally taking over the spot beyond the Xbox 360 and the Wii -- for the first time ever. That's not to say that it topped all of the charts, though. A couple hundred thousands more till it successfully topples down the Nintendo DS from its # 1 spot.

The Beatles: Rock Band - Image 1Time to take that walk in the historic Abbey Road as MTV Games, Harmonix and Apple Corps, Ltd. announced today the launch of Abbey Road (1969) as the first of the Beatles' album to be released as downloadable content. The DLC will be landing in The Beatles: Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii)Music Store on October 20 for the Xbox 360 and Wii, and October 22 for the PS3.

Queen - Image 1It may not be their very own Rock Band title, but Queen will still make its presence felt for Rock Band. MTV Games and Harmonix today announced the Queen track pack for the game, adding ten more tracks from the iconic music group.

Queen - Image 1The Beatles: Rock Band (PS3Xbox 360, and Wii) has been a resounding success, so which band will Harmonix and MTV Games be shining the spotlight on in the next Rock Band game? It's all fog and haze at this point, but according to guitarist Brian May we can now add Queen to the pool of candidates.

Rock Band 2 - Image 1Harmonix has just released a patch for Rock Band 2's Xbox 360 version that adds support for wireless mics, background downloading, and an audition mode for Rock Band Network, among other things. A PS3 version of the patch is now undergoing the certification process and will be out ASAP. There's no word yet on a Wii patch, however. Hit the jump for the patch notes.

chris - Image 1This won't be entirely surprising if ever this does come to pass. RedOctane believes that the new Natal technology from Microsoft will most likely be used for the Guitar Hero franchise.

Rock Band - Image 1Pearl Jam is getting their own Rock Band title, apparently, and they're building up some early hype for their upcoming Rock Band game by releasing their new album, Backspacer, as downloadable content on the same day the album hits stores.
