Far Cry - Image 1It's confirmed: Uwe Boll's making another movie adaptation of a popular videogame, and this time it's Far Cry.  The shooting of the movie - which will take place in Vancouver, Canada, instead of Hawaii as previously stated- will begin immediately next month, as Gamerflicks reports.

A little backgrounder on Far Cry: Ubisoft's 2004 first-person shooter puts the player in the shoes of Jack Carver, an ex-Special Forces soldier who encounters mutant creatures known as Trigen after a mercenary job goes awry. Things go sharply downhill after that, with Carver bent on rescuing his employer - a female journalist by the name of Valerie Constantine - and every step bringing him closer to what the Trigens really are, and who created the monstrosities in the first place.

That's how it goes in the game. How it actually goes in the movie is anyone's guess - and when Uwe's involved, all bets are off, if one remembers his spin on Postal. With much of the cast and staff from his previous movies reprising their roles, one thing is clear, at least: we're in for one very interesting game-to-movie adaptation.

Oh, and in case you're wondering just who'll be portraying Jack, it's a rumored toss-up between Michael Pare ("Bloodrayne II") or Jason Statham ("In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Movie").

Madden TournamentYour palms are sweaty, your breathing heavy. Just one last most important push to take that win. The clock ticks away, here goes the final heave...and then your controller runs out of battery.

Aargh, that totally is not cool. Especially when you are planning to join the first ever Xbox Live Madden NFL tournament. Aside from fame (which buys nothing unfortunately), winners get the chance to compete for $ 100,000 in EA Sports Madden Challenge '06 this coming February in Honolulu, Hawaii.

As for the Xbox Live qualifying round, the top seven players get a VISA gift card loaded with $ 100 and the big winner will receive $ 500. Interested gamers should sign up first at the contest's official website between September 22 and October 10. After signing up, play Madden NFL 07 on Xbox Live from October 5 to 10. The top 512 registered gamers will then be pitted against each other from October 14 to October 31.

Furthermore, the final round will take place from November 1 to November 3, with the top 16 players receiving 1000 Microsoft Points each. The winner of the tournament will be posted on November 10. However, there is still no date for the championship.

Test Drive Unlimited was put to the test by racing game fanatics at this year's Max Power Live event at the Birmingham NEC in the UK. The upcoming PC, PS2, PSP, and Xbox 360 title boasts class-leading graphics and an amazing assortment of vehicles to drive. Test Drive Unlimited took to the centre stage along with world-famous West Coast Customs’ Ryan and Alex featured on MTV's Pimp My Ride.

Ryan and Alex from WCC spent time with the Atari team on the packed stand, talking to both Test Drive Unlimited and Pimp My Ride fans, showing off their spectacular tattoos and posing for photos in front of an immaculate Lamborghini Gallardo, the poster car for Test Drive Unlimited. Throughout the weekend over 3000 racing fans road-tested the game on 32 Xbox 360 game pods, excited at driving a selection of the world’s most desirable and exclusive vehicles head-to-head on the tropical open roads of Hawaii.

Test Drive Unlimited will be available in Autumn 2006. Anyone who was lucky enough to have actually tested the game at Max Power Live can find their photo at www.testdriveatmaxpowerlive.com.
