IO Interactive and Square Enix Europe (formerly Eidos) have confirmed the existence of the Kane & Lynch sequel, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. Details for the game remain scarce, but gaming blog Kotaku was able to unearth a few. Hit the jump for more on this game.

It seems IO Interactive is keeping quite busy these days. They already got two games in the pipeline -- Hitman 5 and Kane & Lynch 2 -- and now reports are suggesting that there's another new IO title on the way.

Visually speaking, the cutesy, cartoony Mini Ninjas is probably as far as IO Interactive can get from their usual blood-drenched action games. While I was a bit blindsided by the game's announcement early this year, it really does grow on you after a while. If you're interested in giving this a spin, you'll be glad to know that the game's PS3, Xbox 360, and PC demos will be available this week.

Eidos president Ian Livingstone was the one who broke news of a new Hitman game from IO Interactive a few months back, and now he has reiterated that the Hitman franchise is sitting squarely in IO's corner.

IO Interactive has quite the pedigree when it comes to action titles: The Hitman series. Freedom Fighters. Kane & Lynch. So how does a cutesy little game like Mini Ninjas fit into the equation? I have no idea. The only reason I can think of is, well, everybody loves ninjas. Except maybe pirates.

Although Kane & Lynch: Dead Men wasn't a hit with critics, and despite being the center of one of gaming's more public controversies, a survey reveals that most of those who played the game actually enjoyed it. More than the reviewers did, at least. Jens Peter Kurup, director of the game, has a chance to speak his mind about how the game was received by critics, and even speaks a bit about the whole Gerstmann gate hullabaloo.

A group of developers from IO Interactive have vacated their positions to reform and kickstart Reto-Moto, the development studio that gave rise to IO Interactive in the first place. Could this lead to a Freedom Fighters sequel? More in the full article.
