If recent Chart Track polls show anything, The UK region is enjoying Jack Sparrow's latest misadventures in Disney Interactive's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, both on the silverscreen and on consoles. The game is also the number 3 seller for the Nintendo DS and Wii console. PotC's success doesn't seem to end in Britain, however, as we pick up a press wire indicating the game's further success in the rest of Europe.

In France, the game reportedly took the number 1 position on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP; number 2 on Windows PC, number 4 on the Wii, and number 8 on the Nintendo DS. Germany sees the game taking number 1 position on the PS3, number 2 on the PSP, number 3 on PS2 and Xbox 360, and number 4 on the Wii. Here were Disney Interactive Studios VP Craig Relyea's comments regarding the sales:

We are extremely pleased with the success of our Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End video games. Fans all over the world are drawn to the dynamic gameplay and stunning graphics that provide players with a truly immersive experience that goes beyond the events of the films.

PotC: At World's End demo - Image 1We figured that there are gamers who are not well-versed on making secondary or tertiary Xbox Live accounts. So, we're pretty much sure that some of you weren't able to download the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End demo released two weeks ago for Australia and the whole of Europe.

Fret not because there are actually a couple of reasons to be feeling fine and dandy like Captain Jack Sparrow himself. First, the full video game title for all platforms has already shipped out to retail stores and you can actually get a copy right about now.

Disney Interactive even made sure there'll be no shortage, releasing a total of 2.8 million copies worldwide.

Here's the more interesting part: if you're still not allured by the beauty of Elizabeth Swann or the antics of Sparrow and haven't purchase the retail version yet, take note that the same demo released for Europe is already available for Xbox Live members in Canada, Mexico, and the rest of North America.

It is still for free and the size is approximately around 972.3 MB. The demo features the first level tutorial for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

If all things go well for Captain Jack Sparrow and Disney Interactive Studios, fans across North America should be getting Pirates of the Caribbean: At world's End tomorrow, May 22, 2007. There's just one more day before the release, so we'd like to share with you another gameplay video featuring Sparrow himself.

After escaping from prison, Sparrow must now go through the Prison Fortress and battle his way past many enemies and hurdles. You can see him here fighting several enemies, jumping off cliffs, and collecting bits of treasure - the things he does best - not to mention charming beautiful women much like Elizabeth Swann herself.

A demo of PoTC: At World's End was recently released on Xbox Live. The game will be available on several platforms: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, Windows/PC, and Playstation 2.

Ahoy, mangy scalawags! Captain Jack Sparrow is back with Will and Elizabeth for more swashbuckling, plank-walking, and treasure hunting action than ever before with Disney Interactive's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. These videos have the developers talking about the gameplay and the special effects that the movie and the game share, and it all looks good. Have a peek at some gameplay footage first:

You'll notice that there will be plenty of jumping and hacking in this iteration of the popular movie franchise. Platforming mechanics were combined with clever fighting moves to put you right in the thick of things as Jack and his crew try to survive every menace that the sea throws at them.

One cool factor that the game introduces is the "notoriety" aspect where players gain the attribute by doing the nasty stuff that pirates do. There are benefits for behaving like a real-life buccaneer, so go right ahead and hop aboard the Black Pearl. Better yet, go see the movie first and when you're feeling all salty, sit in front of the TV and your next-gen machine and have a smashin' good time.

As Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End sets sail to hit the silverscreen and the shelves next week, we got another trailer for another sneak peek at the upcoming video game.

The trailer centers on the series' "hero", Captain Jack Sparrow. He doesn't need a pirate cliche (wooden leg, eye patch, hook for a hand, and/or parrot); all he needs is his hat. Okay, so maybe he's a bit off center, but he's got that certain charisma. In the trailer, we see Captain Jack battling the Kraken and Davy Jones plus a glimpse at the other main characters of the series.

Anyway, Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End from Disney Interactive Studios is slated for release in May 22 for North America. In the meantime, check out the trailer. Enjoy!

Get your Jack Sparrow on. - Image 1

Any self-respecting pirate understands the lure for free loot, and who's to say we can't have our free goodies, right? Well, unless an update from Major Nelson is incoming, you might say that Microsoft is keeping us from grabbing the gold.

The gold in this case is the newly-released demo for Pirates of the Caribbean: at World's End. In it, players can expect to go through the introductory level of the game, most probably as Captain Jack Sparrow.

The problem, however, is that you'll need a European account to access all of the goodies. The Demo details mention that the demo itself is "Not available in Asia, Canada, Mexico or the U.S.," which leaves Australia and Europe as the few places where you can download the demo. Not a problem if you know how to make a secondary or tertiary account, of course, but if you don't, then you're quite of luck.

On the other hand, there is one other place to grab the demo from. Antarctica, which presumably is also World's End. How apt.

PoTC: At World's End - Image 1

Them scurvy pirates are drawing ever closer to your ports. That's right, the company of Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann will be docking atop your retailer's store shelves come May 22. And that's only a few winks away.

So before we get the party started, we've got some new smuggled images of Walt Disney's blockbuster movie-turned-video game, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. These images are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, and they're looking like valuable treasures, indeed.

The movie will be following shortly after the video game's release, so we expect the franchise to bloom like gold. In the meantime, why don't you dig through our latest stash of PoTC: At World's End screenshots? Enjoy!

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End going multiplatform and arriving this summer - Image 1

It looks like aside from going native 1080p for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is also going to be a slightly short romp around the swashbuckling era that ol' Jack Sparrow dwells in. In fact, according to a GameSpot interview with Disney Interactive Studios' producer Jeff Blattner, the single player campaign will be "eight to 10 hours long."

Wow. You can actually finish the game in a day, huh? Unfortunately, for multiplayer fun, all the platforms will only get two modes of multiplay: select levels for cooperative multiplayer and two-player duels. But the PSP should have ad-hoc game sharing over Wi-Fi and some mini-games to boot, which includes a version of a Hearts game.

Thankfully, though, the fight scenes will be a lot more dynamic this time around, with Jack's "Jackanism" antics causing some interesting developments during fights. Blattner illustrated how the new fight mechanics for the next-gen consoles also helps add to Sparrow's character:

Certainly most of the comedy in the film is driven by Jack Sparrow--he has proven himself capable of going toe-to-toe with anyone. More often than not, he will have more than one way to dispatch his enemies. We've had the great challenge and pleasure of delivering those methods through knocking over people, putting barrels on people's heads, and the accidental harmony that he brings to situations.

The game is being developed in a proprietary next-gen engine that could be used for other next-gen titles by Disney, but the Wii version has an included unique control interface for its own engine.

Captain Jack Sparrow is back for another outing in the world of video games. Check him out as he struts his stuff in the new gameplay footage below from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It's pretty short and doesn't feature any swashbuckling action, but one thing's for sure, though: they've got his walk down pat.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is the latest multi-platform title from Disney Interactive Studios. Inspired by both the Dead Man's Chest and At World's End movies, the game lets gamers play as Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann as they try to prevent Jack's past from catching up with him.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
is slated for a May 22 release in the U.S.
