Prince of Persia - Image 1 If you wanna have a look at the upcoming Prince of Persia movie poster, you'll have to walk in a chick flick for that. In a shopaholic's world, nonetheless. Mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has decided that he will debut the Prince's movie poster in the most unlikely of his other movies - the film adaptation of Legally Blonde-ish, Clueless-typish Confessions of Shopaholic (starring Isla Fischer).

Ubisoft - Image 1Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot today reaffirmed at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival that his company is intent on entering the film industry and has made big strides towards the attainment of that goal.

Guillemot calls the move as the next logical step for the French-based firm, saying that it's the best way to take advantage of the next-generation of technology. "We will start making movies not because we want to, but because this is what we have to do," he declared.

Ubisoft is already one of the biggest and most reputable game publishers in the business, and they still plan to expand on a global basis with the creation of big investments in North America and Asia. The company has set up a CGI studio in Montreal, Canada recently and is looking at China as the venue of its next stronghold. The company hires about 500 people a year.

No mention of the upcoming Prince of Persia movie was made, but it was reiterated that an Assassin's Creed flick was a very feasible project. "Prince of Persia" will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Michael Bay.

Guillemot says that Ubisoft knows exactly what it takes to come up big in the entertainment industry, and he enumerates them as "AAA blockbuster titles, a family portfolio, and capitalizing on the Internet."

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Image 1 There's a steady trickle of information regarding the movie adaptation of Jordan Mechner's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Just the other day, we reported that the movie port's script was reviewed. Today, we found out the exact release date for the movie.

The previous reports indicating a "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" release date of "summer of 2009" proved quite accurate. The movie will be made under the watchful eye of producer Jerry Bruckheimer and will be made under Walt Disney Pictures. According to ComingSoon.net, the movie will be heading to box offices on June 10, 2009.

That's right, fans. It seems they're making the movie with the sweet luxury of time - which is pretty ironic since the movie is about manipulating the very stuff. Anyway, we'll keep you posted on this so stay glued.

Samus Aran - Image 1 Here we go again with videogame movie adaptations. MSNBC has a poll about the top five videogames that should be ported to the silver screen.

Metroid and Prince of Persia took top spots. Various reactions could be gotten from those titles alone. Prince of Persia has been announced to be set for a Summer 2008 release via Jerry Bruckheimer. But Metroid? First questions that come to mind would be: Is it going to be a live action movie or would it be better off as CGI? If it's a live action movie, who'd play Samus Aran?

We've seen countless movie adaptations that simply fell flat both on the box office and in the eyes of the videogame fans. And we're sure that fellow gamers haven't forgotten BloodRayne, Doom, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, and the list just go on and on. There are a number of promising upcoming movie adaptations like Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, and even a World of Warcraft movie. Let's hope they don't disappoint.

What games do you think deserve a movie adaptation?
