With the E3 2009 just literally around the corner, we've got publishers and developers alike scrambling to put the finishing touches on their presentations lined up for the event. Epic Games is no different, and has now revealed their plans for the said event. Full plan list after the jump.

EGM recently published news that Epic Games is already busy in development for the third iteration of the popular Gears of War franchise. Completely quelling that bit of pronouncement is Mark Rein, calling it "total nonsense".

There's definitely no stopping Gears of War 2 from taking over the Xbox 360. Not content with selling two million units in its opening weekend alone, Epic Games has announced that they have now surpassed the three million-mark as of last week.

Mark Rein has dismissed the rumor that Legendary Pictures is looking to acquire Epic Games as "just another rumor."

Whew. I thought I was looking at a whole new generation of bad video game movie adaptations.

Ignition Entertainment's Florida studio is stepping into the next-gen arena and it has a "ground-breaking FPS" inbound. To make the development process as smooth as possible, they licensed Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 for the effort. More details after the jump.

An official statement has been worded out: Sega, the guys who've planned to go all out on game adaptations of other media franchises, have licensed the third iteration of the Unreal Engine from Epic Games for an as yet unidentified project. Epic Games announced that it has recently acquired Chair Entertainment, the dev studio behind the Xbox Live Arcade title Undertow.

Chair's also working on a game series based on the "Ender's Game" novels, so it'll be interesting to see how this new arrangement will affect that project. More details on the acquisition are available in the full article.
