It won't be long before you can have your first round with Platinum Games' hot new heroine, that is if you haven't gotten yourself the Japanese release. Sega is launching the demo for Bayonetta for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions on December 3rd.

Action game fans now have another thing to look forward to for the New Year. Sega has penciled in an early January release for Bayonetta (PS3, Xbox 360) in the US and Europe.

Japanese magazine Famitsu has given out its verdict for Platinum Games' Bayonetta, and what do you know, it got a perfect score of 40/40. Here's the thing, though. Not only did it get a perfect 40, it also got a 38.

We've been hearing reports of Bayonetta's PS3version being somewhat less than impressive compared to its Xbox 360 counterpart for the past few weeks now. Was Sega's porting job really shoddy? Platinum Games and Sega have finally set a date for Bayonetta's PS3 and Xbox 360 demo. In Japan at least. They've also announced that the demos will be different across the two systems. The difference? An extra stage for the Xbox 360 version.

With GamesCom out of the way, there's still another big gaming event on the calendar: the Tokyo Game Show. For this year's TGS, Sega will be showing off a pretty balanced lineup that includes handheld sequel Valkyria Chronicles 2, the PS3 and Xbox 360 RPG End of Eternity, and PS3 exclusive Yakuza 4.

Its overseas release may have been delayed, but Hideki Kamiya, the Platinum Games team, and Sega are cooking up a little something for gamers looking forward to their action-packed opus, Bayonetta (PS3s and Xbox 360).

More news coming from GamesCom. This one is from Platinum Games' producer, Yusuke Hashimoto, on the delayed Bayonetta (PS3 and Xbox 360). According to Hashimoto, it's almost there in the finish line.

Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya had mentioned replayability for the game before, but apparently Platinum Games won't be going the DLC route to further enhance post-completion play.

Japan may have just recently gotten good news about Bayonetta (PS3 and Xbox 360), but gamers in the West aren't quite as lucky. According to Sega, we'll all have to wait until January of next year for the game's release.
