Here's a bit of good news for BioWare fans. According to video game news site PlayStation Universe, a BioWare community director has confirmed that the company will indeed be attending this year's E3. The company will reportedly have some "cool stuff" to show at the event, but apart from that, no other details were revealed. There is also some speculation about a possible PS3-related announcement from BioWare. Ray Muzyka, the company's CEO, was reported to have openly stated that BioWare has something cooking for the Sony PS3 at a Video games Live concert in Edmonton, Canada, early this year. The rumor was subsequently quashed by BioWare PR coordinator Erik Einsiedel, but both Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk have confirmed that the company is indeed working on all next-gen platforms. |

For all you guys anticipating BioWare's next title, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk talked about Mass Effect in the latest interview with CVG.Muzyka gave his piece about the different elements in the game. Mass Effect will be focusing on the story, characters, and digital actors; this means exploring galaxies and uncharted worlds to enhance the story, and all out motion capture with hundreds of voice actors for the characters. Fortunately, the decision to put the game in a single DVD isn't going to affect the quality. No confirmations about downloadable content yet, but it's almost certain that we'll get some. "Mass Effect is a natural fit for that kind of thing," said Muzyka. Both of them are pretty proud of the voice job. "There's over a hundred I think. There 300 characters; it's pretty crazy in a good way," Zeschuk commented. "We've got some famous actors for the voice acting as well," added Muzyka. A huge focus on the game is the branching conversations. To make sure they flow well, all cutscenes even just a couple of people talking are done with motion capture. "I remember when I first played with the dialogue system I was like, 'wow'. It really does feel like you're in the scene dictating what your lines are. It really brings you in to the experience," said Zeschuk. For the full interview, click on the Read link below. |

The last bit of news we had on the eagerly-awaited RPG title for the X360 Mass Effect was CEO Ray Muzyka comparing BioWare's latest video game to the TV series "24"- which we must admit doesn't really give us any updates on the game's progress. Thanks to the GDC we will have more information about this game; BioWare has confirmed that it will be showing off a demo of the RPG title at the Game Developer Conference (GDC) in San Francisco next week. As developers like to be pretty secretive, neither Microsoft nor BioWare have released any details about what the game may contain, but word around the gaming industry suggests that the game is heading for a release sooner rather than later, and therefore a fully-playable demo should be on show. Stay tuned next week as QJ.NET will have all the latest news from the GDC, including an interview with game creators Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk. |

One of the showstoppers in last year's E3 was Mass Effect. Intergalactic wars, a story of epic proportions, gender controversies... This RPG never fails to impress. So, when you know that they're planning to make this game the first in a trilogy, you can expect massive gears over-clocking to development perfection in the BioWare labs. On top of that, their plans of creating episodic content in between the three installments in the series will surely require some major foresight into the future. Ray Muzyka from BioWare talks about their plans for the future, and it's nothing but massive effects snowballing down the future. Part of his interview with teamXBOX reads: We've always thought of the storyline as part of a long-term franchise, and that’s actually more challenging for our writers, because they've got to think long-term. They've got to not only build the underlying foundation, kinda like an iceberg, where there's so much of the base that you don’t see. [...] Downstream, you’ve actually got to plan out where the storyline is going. It has to be a really satisfying, climactic conclusion to the main game, but then there has to more beyond that for the second or third game. This is excerpt was taken from the first part of an interview. Click the "Read" link below to learn more about what Muzyka has to say about their upcoming game, including the emotional side of things, exploration elements, and their final stretch in development. |
