Have we seen the last of the Red Ring of Death? Well no, of course not. But according to Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg, they've "put the worst behind" them, and performance of the current systems are "strong." Not that I don't believe you, Greenberg, but you do have a history of being too much of a fanboy. |

The Red Ring of Death is the most common failure of the Xbox 360 to
date. The chances of your Xbox crashing are a whopping 30%. Microsoft
has been tight lipped on this subject except in a July 2007 press
release, where they stated that there is a design flaw, and almost
every system could fail at some point. Even if you don't have problems
right now, you should be aware of what can happen because as your
system gets older, the chance of failure increases drastically.Would you like to know more? |

Oy vey... Looks like the New Xbox Experience dashboard update is
experiencing some not-so-new Xbox woes. November 19: launch day for the
NXE update. Not 24 hours after it went live, complaints are already
piling up. Various forums online have threads and threads of people reporting
anything from connection freezes, slow downs, lock ups, broken TV
connections, and so many other different numerical errors... inlcluding reports of RRoD'ed brickage. |

Following reports of rampant failures concerning Xbox 360 Elite units in the UK, Microsoft has denied the stories and downplayed the details which were divulged. An independent repair specialist took on Microsoft's side this time around, saying that Elites are far less prone to the notorious red rings of death which has plagued earlier versions of the console. More after the jump. |

Microsoft's Xbox 360 console went through a lot recently, and right now it appears as if it's losing favor among gamers and retailers in Australia. A survey taken from the country's top retail stores revealed that the Xbox 360 doesn't perform as well compared to its rivals, the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. Is there any hope for Microsoft's white horse to catch up again? Check out the full article to read more. |

Reading about the reported 16.4 failure rate of Microsoft's not something that could shock us anymore, but Microsoft somewhat dismissed warranty provider SquareTrade's failure rate report about the three major console's reported failure rates. It's still a nice change from the infamous 33 percent failure rate, however. Read Microsoft's comment in response to SquareTrade's report in the full article. |
