SNES Advantage 360 mod - Image 1You've probably heard people complaining about the Xbox 360 controller. I'm sure they have their own reasons, but at least for this one modder, it isn't so much about the 360 controller in itself, but more of his desire to go retro. This guy took his Xbox 360 wireless controller and remapped it in a way for it to fit into an SNES Advantage joystick controlpad. The result is still wireless; it's even got the LED player-indicator lights, and a female USB slot for charging. Here's a demo vid showing it off while playing SoulCalibur 4.

TGS 07: Square Enix's Infinite Discovery first trailer video - Image 1The Xbox 360 video game title Infinite Undiscovery from Square Enix and Tri-Ace is one of the heavily guarded WIP projects. We first learned about this some time during Q3 of 2006 and it is only now that details are beginning to surface.

Infinite Undiscovery
then finally revealed itself at the on-going Tokyo Game Show 07. We have here the trailer video shown at the said show and even though the game is still far from being complete, the graphics and the gameplay mechanics are already awesome.

The game involves a case of mistaken identity between the legendary hero of the Resistance Army Sigmunt and the healer flute player Capel. It was said that Infinite Undiscovery is the culmination of a 10-year worth of ideas from video game programmer Yoshiharu Gotanda. The said programmer is credited for the first Tales game, SNES' Tales of Phantasia.

Wii - Image 1Game industry sales tracking site VG Chartz reports that the Nintendo Wii game console has hit total lifetime sales of 10.57 million in the period ending August 23rd, surpassing Microsoft's Xbox 360 to take first place in this generation's console war.

VG Chartz says that its figures come from samples drawn from consumers worldwide, and not retailers, meaning that there may have been more Xbox 360s shipped, but more Wiis have been sold.

The Wii launched a year after the Xbox 360, but saw rapid sales in every market it has been distributed in. Since its launch late last year, it has outpaced its rivals in monthly market performance.

VG Chartz says that very few analysts would have even conceived of this development happening a couple of years back, but Nintendo proved all its critics wrong with innovative controls and casual games that expanded the market.

The last time Nintendo led the market was in the early to mid-90s during the heyday of its SNES system. It saw tough times with last generation's GameCube but rebounded strongly with the Wii.
