Fresh into the shelves this week is the SNK Playmore fight-fest King of Fighters XII. Early reports, however, indicated that the game experiences some gameplay issues in online play, specifically some lag. The issue may not have been the same in all instances, but SNK is patching the problem up all the same.

Tired of the flimsy four-game batches we've been having lately? We've got double the number this week, with big titles you definitely don't want to miss out on, even if you're not much of a day one buyer. For starters, there the PC version for Bionic Commando (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) and the naval strategy game, East India Company. Cherry on the icing goes to King of Fighters XII (PS3, Xbox 360),and the much-anticipated Wii Sports Resort, hand-in-hand with the Wii MotionPlus.

Sorry, but there's been a delay in the flight of King of Fighters XII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Originally set for a July 16 Japan launch, it now stands on the wings of TBA July.

Calling 2D fighting "a lost art," Shane Bettenhausen of Ignition Entertainment took the opportunity to ramp up publicity for King of Fighters XII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), the latest in the SNK Playmore 2D-fighting franchise. There aren't many 2D fighters out there anymore, with the exception of a few loyal franchises, and King of Fighters is one of the last ones standing. With its release, King of Fighters XII will be duking it out with younger fighters in the industry, so let's see how the veteran will make his move.

Japanese gaming mag Famitsu has finally revealed the two extra characters added in the home console versions of King of Fighters XII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3). Sadly, Mai and K' are nowhere to be seen. Instead, we get King of Fighters XI's Elizabeth Blanctorche and Mature, who apparently got better after she was killed by Iori Yagami.

It's a bit unfortunate that Ignition and SNK Playmore haven't been coughing up info for King of Fighters XII, but lucky for US, IGN got some info off an unnamed retailer describing the game modes for the 2D fighter.

Ash Crimson annoys me. I don't know what it is about him, but I've felt this way ever since King of Fighters 2003. He's still in King of Fighters XII and he's still as annoying as ever, as you can see in the new trailer video we have in the full article.

While North American fight fans are still on edge about the Marvel vs Capcom 2 teasing from Capcom, the gamers in Japan are left with no doubt as to what fighting games SNK Playmore will be bringing to the Japanese XBLA.

Call it sacrilege or whatever, but I've always been more of a King of Fighters guy than a Street Fighter fan. That's why King of Fighters XII's move to consoles has me all excited, especially now that K' is being rumored to be one of the new fighters that'll be added to the 20-character roster.
