Welcome to the 52nd edition of QuickJump QuickPeek! It's an extra long one gamers, but not just its because QuickPeek's now a year old. We have a lot of news for you this week, with firmware updates for the PSP, PlayStation 3, and the Wii, the sequel to Gears of War, what's coming in this year's E3, and much, much more! With Solid Snake enjoying epic numbers in Japan, it's now time to take a look at the other side of the world. Chart Track reports the software sales figures for the week ending on June 14, with Metal Gear Solid 4 closing its firm grip on to the top spot. Lego Indy is like so last week now. Its multiplatform success on the PSP, PS3, Wii, DS, 360, and PC last week apparently wasn't enough to take cover from the Guns of the Patriots. Just when you thought Snake's sneaking days were finally over, a recent rumor heard from video game site ripten revealed that the Metal Gear Solid series may still have one final card left to play. According to its sources, they were able to spy evidence of the MGS series taking steps to infiltrate Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service. This week welcomes the much-loved and much-awaited Metal Gear Solid 4 from Konami. No longer should we worry about broken street dates, because today it all becomes official. Remember Hideo Kojima and Jade Raymond's interview from a few months back? Well, we might have been musing about them coming up with a Metal Gear Solid - slash - Assassin's Creed hybrid, and now... well... Let's just say we're pretty amused. In this gameplay video, we see Altair running around a familiar-looking war zone, carrying his own rifle and trying to fight a couple of... nah. Sorry. No spoilers.
