Samurai Shodown - Image 1Shin Nihon Kikaku, or just plain ol' SNK, made the 2007 Tokyo Game Show more interesting by announcing that the fighting game Samurai Shodown 2 will be making its way to the Xbox Live Arcade and the Nintendo Wii in the coming months. Japan's XBLA will be getting a port of the original Samurai Shodown 2, while the Wii will get the Samurai Shodown Anthology which is a collection of the six main games. No news yet if the port Samurai Shodown 2 will reach the U.S.' XBLA.

Samurai Shodown, also called Samurai Spirits in Japan, was first released for the home console version of the NeoGeo system, and was highly popular among gamers because of its apparent originality when it came to the game's aesthetics, background music, and fast-paced gameplay. Samurai Shodown was ported to different platforms.

SNK also announced that another game from the series, Samurai Shodown Sen (or Samurai Spirits Flash), will be hitting arcades this year. This game will be made in full 3D with the Taito Type-X arcade board's help. The developer's other game, King of Fighters: Maximum Impact Regulation "A" 2 is still on schedule and will be in arcades this year. World Gorgeous for the Sony PlayStation 2 was also shown at the TGS.

We'll follow up on these games when more announcements from SNK come in.
