Blu-ray covering more ground; HD DVD losing ground - Image 1 The format war may soon come to a conclusion, barring some hidden aces up HD DVD's sleeve. According to new data from Home Media Magazine, no HD DVD title has entered the top 10 best selling HD movies for the week ending on January 27. The whole list is occupied by Blu-ray titles; this marks the third week HD DVD has been absent from the list. More in the full article.

Blu-ray - Image 1The new word circulating around about the format war is that Warner Bros. will soon be going Blu-ray exclusive. This after VP Dan Silverberg commented that with the arrival of affordable hardware, it's time for the studio to re-evaluate the "notion of staying in two formats." Later on he says that "We can definitely talk Blu-Ray. We are committed to the format." If they do decide to go Blu-ray exclusive we should expect some major shifts in the format war similar to when Paramount and Dreamworks went HD DVD exclusive. Read more in the full article. Two new demos have come buzzing and shooting their way into the Xbox Live Marketplace: Bee Movie Game, based on Jerry Seinfeld's new animated movie, and Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal where your favorite Looney Tunes characters have to fight for their loony lives.

Both the Bee Movie Game and Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal demos are available in the US and Canada. Bee Movie Game demo will also be available in Mexico, while the actual game will be available on October 30. The Looney Tunes demo will also be available in Europe; the actual game will be released on October 9 for the US.
