PC Magazine featured 10 controllers that it describes as "weird" even by current gaming standards. Still, we found the NES Mini very cute, we say that the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw is ingenious, but we're still thinking of ways to have fun with the Xbox 360 keyboard. Click on the images to see the full image and name
We're not sure how a controller officially becomes "weird," but we guess if it's popular, it can't be weird. We thought the WiiMote, Dreamcast controller and the Dance Dance Revolution were weird at first, but hey, they eventually became cool. We're still frustrated over the fact that we've never seen people do Wolverine and Spiderman air combos with dance pads, though. Wanna see more controllers that will twist the way you play your old games? There's plenty left after the jump! |

This is the reason why Xbox Live is so fun to use: you can always find someone who'll be making cool extras for people to play around with. This time, it's Activision's turn to give gamers the goods, and we've got video of the new heroes and villains making up the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance expanded roster.
Hulk, Magneto, Venom... all of the superstars are there. Best of all, you get to see them in action to give you a taste of what's in store when you. Can you imagine the awesomeness? Spider-Man in his black costume, original Venom, Wolverine and Sabertooth?! They would absolutely rock this joint! Just remember that you can download the combined heroes and villains pack for 800 Microsoft Points or either the hero or villain pack for 500 points. Enjoy the vid! |

After unleashing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance's new heroes and villains on the Xbox Live from Activision, let's get to know them a little bit more, one by one. We have here today the Character Bios for each of them, so this ought to give you a lot of help with dealing with them.
The Hulk:His real name is Robert "Bruce" Banner, and he is known for a lot of aliases, including Annihilator, Captain Universe, Joe Fixit, and Mechono to name a few. This mean, green machine used to be a nuclear physicist. Depending upon the levels of his emotional stress, his powers grow in proportion. Yep, the greener he gets, the more angry he is. So, no weapons needed for this guy. Just disposition and emotions. Hawkeye:He's yet to come out of the superheroes closet, but Hawkeye's human personality is named Clinton Francis "Clint" Barton. He used to be a carnival performer, security chief, and also had his time being the bad guy as a criminal. Actually, he's got no superpowers to boast of, but he does use gasses designed by Hank Pym so he can stretch his height, and proportioned to that, increases in strength and toughness. He is also considered to be a world-class archer, as well as an excellent marksman. Unsurprisingly, his weapons of choice would then have to be the bow and arrow. Cyclops:We all know Cyclops to be the boyfriend of Jean Grey. Scott Summers, as he is known in the human society, is the co-headmaster of Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. For those of you who don't know, he is actually a former radio announcer. Of course, as you may all know, he possesses the ability to project a beam of force from his eyes. Measuring the beam's effective range will give you the distance of 2,000 feet. Cyclops has to have his special eyewear made of ruby quartz lenses as he can't shut off the beams, so to speak, due to a head injury. The complete characters profile await after the jump. |

We just can't get enough of a good thing. Ever since the announcement of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the PS3 and Xbox 360, Activision has been releasing some teaser videos featuring Marvel characters and their signature moves and super abilities. We've seen Nightcrawler, Iceman, Torch, Iron Man, and Dr. Doom in action, and we're pretty sure there will be more to come until the game is released in November. True enough, Activision has released six action-packed trailers this time featuring Marvel fan favorites Wolverine, Storm, Elektra, Ghost Rider and Luke Cage. The first trailer shows Storm unleashing her power and killing enemies that stand in her way. While storm takes control of wind and lightning, Elektra shows off her fancy moves while wielding two bladed sais. The "gentlemen" of Marvel also had their chance to show off their abilities: Luke Cage and his brute strength; Ghost Rider and his chain-wielding ways; and Wolverine slicin' and dicin' anyone who comes near his path. With over 140 characters, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance sets the stage for an explosive showdown. Make sure you become part of it when it launches on November 17. A couple of days ago,
we were able to update you on some game titles that have been patched
up to be backwards compatible for the Xbox Live. Now, if you thought
your 360 couldn't get any more, well, "alive" with Xbox Live, Major
Nelson has posted Microsoft's August '06 list of game titles which have
been made compatible with your 360. The list includes nearly 50 games,
some of which were already compatible before, but are now updated.
This new patch brings the entire list of backwards compatible games to around 300 titles. Imagine, 300! Doesn't it make you feel like treating all those 300 games as Pokemon Gotta catch 'em all, kids! So here's the August '06 list. Make sure you click the Full Article link below to see the rest of the games.
