No arcade version - Image 1Street Fighter has long been a favorite in the arcades, with the best players in the world performing their best with the arcade stick over the console controller. Even with console versions of past iterations, many would still opt to buy joysticks to play in consoles. Unfortunately, it looks like people will be stuck with doing that in Super Street Fighter IV for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions since it has been confirmed: there won't be an arcade version.

Yoshinori Ono - Image 1It's become a classic he said-he said. Pitted against each other are the movie prod's claim that the Street Fighter movie will be coming out on March 2009 in a simultaneous launch with the SFIV (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC) games. Ono-san, however, says he does not know of any simultaneous release. Confused much? Yeah, we are too. Good thing he also talks about parrying and a lot of other things.

The Capcom logo - Image 1Writers and artists know that forcing the issue just won't help - sometimes, it's best to leave ideas simmering on the proverbial back burner before returning to them at a later time.

Incidentally, that seems to be what Yoshinori Ono and the rest of the Capcom development team have done with Street Fighter 4. Ono explained things during a recent interview, located right after the jump.
