The seventh-gen console war seems to have taken a sharp turn towards Sony's favor for February. Not only did Blu-ray finally win over HD DVD, but the PlayStation 3 also outsold the Xbox 360 for the second month in a row. Sony's pretty stoked about it, but what does Microsoft have to say? The answer to that and more in the full article. |

In case some of you failed to notice, Microsoft implemented a cap limit
to the total number of people you can add to your Xbox Live Friends
list. Some might find this useful while the "sociable" gamers might see this as something absurd. Regardless of what you think about this policy, Xbox 360 Group Product Manager Aaron Greenberg recently provided a very detailed explanation about the matter. His answers after the jump! |

If you've been downloading stuff on the Xbox Live Marketplace,
then you may have noticed the rather confusing pricing of some of the
downloads. According to Xbox 360 group product manager Aaron Greenberg,
this was not something they intended but rather a side-effect of credit
card transaction fees.Want to know what Aaron Greenberg had to say about this? Check out the full article for the complete explanation. |

It's been a busy week this Thanksgiving for Microsoft, who reports that it had to replenish supplies to top retailers who had sold out of Xbox 360s for the shopping week. Microsoft also reports that a big percentage of sales are made up of the successful Xbox 360 Arcade unit, which "performed above what [Microsoft] expected." More in the full article. |

Aaron Greenberg, Xbox 360 Group Product Manager, recently promoted the newly-launched Xbox 360 Arcade pack as an all-in-one solution for more casual, family-oriented entertainment. This came as a response to the criticism leveled against Microsoft for being too "hardcore focused," to the detriment of the more casual gamers who help keep the industry going. As proof of Microsoft's new marketing strategy, Mr. Greenberg pointed to some of the games that will be part of the Xbox 360 Arcade: Pac-Man: Championship Edition, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja and Viva Piñata: Party Animals. On top of that, Microsoft has struck deals with Warner Bros. and Nickelodeon for their family-friendly shows to be made available to consumers via the Xbox Live Marketplace. While confident that Microsoft would lead the holiday market in terms of total software sales, Mr. Greenberg did not go so far as to claim that the new Microsoft Xbox Arcade 360 would thrash the Nintendo Wii. Mr Greenberg said that Microsoft hoped to provide an alternative or a supplement to Nintendo's family-friendly machine while it continued to entice the more hardcore gamers - in short, a little something for everyone in the gaming family. |

With all the flak Microsoft is receiving for Xbox 360 hardware failures, it seems difficult for anyone to appreciate what the gaming giant is doing behind the lines to ensure better consoles. According to Xbox Group Marketing Manager Aaron Greenberg, every 360 on shelves today is a tad better than earlier units.Greenberg told Kotaku, "We have made all the improvements in our manufacturing process... All the consoles on the market have those improvements." Itching to grab a 360 yet? Current owners won't be left behind, because Microsoft's repair service apparently comes with sneaky but free tweaks. As Greenberg puts it, consoles sent for repair return home with improvements intact. "It should be similar to buying a new console off the shelf," he said. The question now is what exactly these improvements are. Anyone who noticed any changes in their machines after getting them fixed can feel free to testify via comments. |
