You'd think the Wiimote would be the ultimate controller for shooters, but having to switch between the D-pad and the A button every time you change weapons just makes for clunky gameplay. The solution? Slap a track ball on the A button! And that's just what AcidMods did. Check out a vid of their latest mod after the link. Another thanks to Mark for the tip off! |

In the words of Peter Moore, the Xbox 360 controller is pretty "damn complicated." So let's simplify. Straight from AcidMods, this Xbox 360 controller mod makes life easier, with just the two joysticks on top, and the D-pad and face buttons on the back. Details and a vid after the link. Thanks to Mark for the tip on this awesome mod! |

The console modding scene is definitely a thing to behold, and in this update direct from Acidmods, we get news of a particular mod that should make gaming more accessible. Introducing Cyberpyrot's Voice Recognition Controller Mod - a mod that will make your controllers recognize spoken commands and automatically perform that command on its own. Jump? Reload? Frag? Awesome. Check out full details (and a video demonstration) at the full article. |

Grandpasmurf let us know of this funny thing the folks at Acidmods noticed when playing Crackdown. Apparently, some of the NPCs in the video game drive around in invisible cars, and the occurrence is frequent enough to be captured on film.
Below is a video showing off just what happens. According to Acidmods, this is probably caused by the failure of the graphics processor to keep up with the game. On the one hand, it's rare that a game is so awesome that a console can't keep up with it. On the other hand, it's pretty shoddy how RealTime Worlds didn't remedy this with a patch or some such. Still, in a game where you can jump onto buildings and perform incredible feats of super strength, something like invisible cars should probably seem commonplace anyways. |
