It was a tough week, alright, with the QJ team having to contend with a lot of fakers, a last-minute faking ourselves, and me personally now having to protect myself against some wicked magic of the black kind for leading people to believe that now is the best time to buy a Phantasy Star Portable - cos you know, news broke out that the PSP Brite has finally been hacked -- on April Fool's day. Yeah-huh, being fun sure is a lot of hard work. Thank goodness we've got juicy, exciting news from our friends in the gaming industry to balance it all out. And we've got them bundled up all nice and warm for you in ish #66 .

Played the demo yet? The latest installment in the Riddick franchise is set to come out next month, so you might want to catch up on some details. If you got to play Butcher Bay, you probably have an idea what's going on in Assault on Dark Athena. If you haven't played the first game, that's ok too. See, we got a new dev diary video with the team working on Vin Diesel's game, and they pretty much give us the 411 on Dark Athena.

Defeating a marshmallow man probably doesn't match up to facing down the Locust Hord, but it does give you points. In fact, the Ghostbusters video game will be like Gears of War "Lite," says the game's producer, Garrett Moehring.

The recent ad from the UK government's Change 4 Life campaign that links gaming to an early death is attracting a lot of hostility from the video game industry, and from where I'm standing, only rightfully so. The UK and European trade body Tiga is calling the ad "absurd and insulting, [...] a non-sequitur of colossal proportions." Sony is also considering suing them for using a Playstation-like controller for the ad.

The demo for Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena finally went live on XBL this morning. What about the PSN version? It's "coming soon" says Atari. D'oh!

It took some time coming here, but The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena finally gets a release date. Expect the game to hit shelves on April 7 in North America, and on April 24 in Europe. A demo for both XBL and PSN are coming this March.

This goes out to all you Riddick fans. It's a trailer for the upcoming The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PS3, Xbox 360), which features the bad-ass Riddick doing what he does best - hunting in the dark.

After Brutal Legend was left out in the cold by Activision, the publisher is now claiming that they still have rights to the game and is threatening to sue the game's new publisher, Electronic Arts.

EA's response? "We doubt that Activision would try to sue. That would be like a husband abandoning his family and then suing after his wife meets a better looking guy." *Hiss*

Time to board the Ecto-1, we're hunting ghosts! There's now some confirmation that Atari plans to release a PSN and XBL demo for Ghostbusters this June. No specific date for the demo yet, but the game gets released on the 16th of that month - the demo could come in within a week or two from that. My guess is it'll go live on June 8. Why? Because it's my birthday. No really, it is! (Oh, and the Ghostbusters movie's birthday too.)

We already saw some videos where we got a few tidbits of the voice talents for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PS3, Xbox 360) last Thursday, so now, we'll get some info on who will be the cast behind the characters of this new title from Atari.
