Now that id Software has been acquired by ZeniMax, the veteran game studio is using some of the extra cash by putting together a new development team. More after the jump.

Doom and Rage (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) developer id Software has joined Bethesda Softworks under the wings of new parent company ZeniMax. A press release announcing the acquisition of the former by the latter has just been released.

Yeah, the street date on Fallout 3's Point Lookout DLC has been broken, but even if you already have the retail codes, you'll have to wait until the official Tuesday launch to play it. Unless you're one of the lucky ones who managed to activate it before the lockdown, that is. For now, check out these new screenshots.

Making history is Fallout 3's Point Lookout DLC. No, this time, it's not for another record-breaking number, but rather, it's for having the first broken street date for a DLC. The said  DLC was supposed to arrive not till next Tuesday.

A day after Bethesda launched their various Game of the Year and Deluxe packages of Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind as digital copies via Steam, then came the announcement that Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games are teaming up together to provide bundles for BioShock AND The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

We've had a few publishers whip their E3 lineups out this week, so we're starting to get a picture of all those publishers and developers packed inside the LA Convention Center next week - but hold up, a few won't cut it. There are over a hundred different companies flocking to show their goods at the Electronic Entertainment Expo - publishers, developers, retailers, game sites, and all sorts of businesses having to do with electronic entertainment. We've already taken a look back at what transpired on the hardware side of things in our previous special edition QuickPeeks, so this time let's review the game announcements from E3 2008 that graced these pages. We'll see if the words of the big three as well as the third-party developers and publishers at last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo came to pass.

I actually did a double-take on this press release right here. Reading the title, I was like, "no way" and then "yes way" and then "whooooa." Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that the Fallout 3 DLC, which have been reaffirmed by Pete Hines to be exclusive for the Xbox 360 and PC, will now also be coming to the PS3 starting this June! And what's more is that not one - but two new DLC add-ons are planned after Broken Steel for all three platforms!

An interview with Bethesda's Pete Hines reveals some future plans they've got for Fallout 3 and the franchise as a whole. Hines talks about the DLC, the possibility of a Fallout MMO, and where the Oblivion books would take the franchise. Details in the full article.

The last of the three DLC for Fallout 3 from Bethesda comes as promised, and accompanying the DLC on its debut is this little trailer for Broken Steel, check it out. Just a little reminder though, the add-on is only for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, so don't be expecting to see this one on PSN.
