It seems that Midway's financial woes has again ended in layoffs. The publisher has just confirmed that some members of its Chicago headquarters have been let go following the shipment of Midway's frontline titles, Blitz: The League 2 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) and Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3).

EA Sports may have the exclusive rights to develop NFL games, but more and more publishers are finding ways to capture the football audience with titles not based on the league. Hot off EA CEO John Riccitiello's announcement of a new Need For Speed game, some less exciting revelations were dropped.
