This week's release list can be described in a few words: college football. Tuesday marks the release of multiplatform sports game NCAA Football 2009 on every modern console there is to date. During our search, we've found that some games haven't surfaced in the previous weeks - even on online retail. So expect to see a repeat showing this week. EA Sports may have the exclusive rights to develop NFL games, but more and more publishers are finding ways to capture the football audience with titles not based on the league. Take for instance Midway Games' Blitz: The League - it offers what looks like great visuals, intense action, and a deep array of modes to keep any gridiron game fan happy. Electronic Arts has complied with the Federal Trade Commission's requirements and has submitted necessary information to allow the government probe against possible antitrust law violations. The company has also promised to take no actions in its takeover quest of rival Take-Two until late August, ensuring that the competition is safe for now. Full details after the jump.

Calling plays is any good team's lifeblood in pro football. That's why in Madden NFL 09 (Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PC,  PS3), EA Sports made sure that this year's interface would get a revamp to take it into the thick of things in the next-gen console era. The comments made by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick about how 2K Sports titles are out-rating EA Sports games in reviews seem to have gotten to EA Sports boss Peter Moore. Peter blogged recently about how competitive their line-up is and he spoke of how franchises like NBA Live will put on a ground-breaking show when E3 2008 comes. More details in the full article.

 With the closure of EA Chicago, some thought that the night may have ended early for the Fight Night franchise.
