And the Games Convention Developers Conference (GCDC) for 2007 is rolling to a good start as another company has officially announced, via press wire, games that will be offered for gamers, media and retailers at the Leipzig Business Center come late August. Deep Silver (X3: Reunion Game of the Year Edition, Warhammer: Mark of Chaos) and its partners have listed ANNO 1701, Ferrari Challenge, Final Fantasy Tactics, Secret Files 2, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Heroes of Mana, Perry Rhodan, and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria as featured games for gamers.

Deep Silver announces game lineup for GCDC 2007 - Image 1

ANNO 1701 is Deep Silver's upcoming add-on to the ANNO (PC) real-time strategy series, published by Ubisoft. Ferrari Challenge (PlayStation 3, DS, Wii), published by System 3, will be there to tout realistic modeling and racing simulations of the Italian sports car and the motor sports series of the same name.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War (PSP) under Square Enix' supervision will also be at the Leipzig Convention, enticing fans of the Square Enix Final Fantasy and tactical action persuasion to give the game a try over handheld. Mystery fans might want to to stop by to take a gander at the sequel to the classic German adventure Secret Files: Tunguska, Secret Files 2 (PC) - the predecessor being a winner of several local and regional game of the year awards.

And if you're a fan of Mana, you could check out Heroes of Mana (DS), a real-time strategy title published by Square Enix and based on the Mana series. Empire Interactive's Flatout Ultimate Carnage (Xbox 360) will be smashing its way to Leipzig, too, after a well-anticipated, timely launch for the destructive driving title.

Perry Rhodan (PC) will feature the famous astronaut of the same name in a fictional adventure game published by Brain Game. And if Heavenly Sword coming out for the PlayStation 3 just shattered your day, worry not, because Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (PS2) by Square Enix will be brandished at the event to satisfy the Sony current generation console gamers.

But wait, Deep Silver isn't done yet, because more games will be announced when the second part of the European-centric trade fair highlights by the developer is polished before the curtains rise by August 23. Catch them, and their games, at stand A12 of Hall 3 of the Leipzig Business Center.

We've seen a couple of heartbreaking news in the past like the Too Human delay (for Max F.) and StarCraft: Ghost becoming vaporware for this writer. One of our internet hamsters found a couple of videos that certainly broke a lot of hearts here at QJ Central.

It actually feels like videos from "Maximum Exposure" or "World's Most Amazing Videos" since we did flinch a lot while watching. Here's a briefer: A commercial for Bizarre Creation's Project Gotham Racing 4 which involves a Ferrari F430, '63 Corvette, Mercedes-Benz SLR, and a bike was being shot at a tight corner. Unfortunately, the F430 does an Eddie Griffin and drifts too close to the safety wall, then poof! Costs for the said commercial instantly skyrocketed.

Anyway, check out the videos and assess the damage. Good thing we can bash up expensive cars (well, virtual cars) in Project Gotham Racing 4 without the added cost, right?

Check out the damage after the jump!

Ferrari Challenge Stradale - Image 1Parking its red, shiny trunk into the Xbox Live Marketplace is a new pack of cars for Test Drive Unlimited. Gearing in at 350 Microsoft Points, Volume 4 is now available for Atari's racing title and the downloadable content holds a total of six new cars. Get your keys, it's time for a run-down:
As always, once the download is done, the cars will be available for purchase at their respective in-game dealerships. For those looking for a bonus, the Saturn Curve is also free for download. This latest addition has now brought the Test Drive Unlimited car library to have over 30 "expansion cars" on top of those available in the game itself.

Test Drive Unlimited - Image 1Polish site GRY-Online has said that a sequel for Atari's Test Drive Unlimited is currently in the works, and this time, it will be making its rounds on both the PC and the Xbox 360.

It is also alleged that the game will be up and running come March of next year, with lots of new surprising tricks and turns for all you racing aficionados out there. For one, the supposed TDU 2 will feature hot rides from makers such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Pagani, Saleen, McLaren and a whole lot more. There will also be a couple of new off-road cars to be introduced in the sequel, along with SUVs, 4WD, enduro bikes, and even buggies.

According to the information trickling in, courses will be roughly about 1500 square kilometers, with winding streets and long stretches of highways, as well as, off-road tracks for your off-road vehicles. There will also be several online modes, just to keep that fun flowing.

However, don't get too excited just yet. We haven't gotten any confirmation on this, so we'll be tagging this only as a rumor for now. But not to worry, we'll be right on it as soon as we hear any more official word from Atari on the supposed Test Drive Unlimited 2.

Grand Theft Auto IV-themed Ferrari - Image 1

If you've ever dreamed of owning a Ferrari and living on the edge Grand Theft Auto-style, we have just the specimen to satisfy that hunger. We came across this photo taken at the New York Auto show and we were ecstatic.

Sure, it may not be the newest, fastest, and most expensive four-wheeler in that mix they had that day, but boy did this ride ever stand out. It's a Ferrari Modena custom-painted with Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto IV logos. There was no way to tell if the boys at Take Two had a hand in this, but it was certainly a nice surprise.

Too bad we can't take the wheel and go for a spin in it, and we're not sure we would want to either. This one's good enough as eye candy and there's really no sense roughing it up.

Project Gotham Racing 4 on OXm's latest issue - Image 1Craving for some finger-lickin' good update on Bizarre Creations' yet-to-be-released racer Project Gotham Racing 4? Good thing if you're a subscriber of the Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) because PGR4 is going to be its featured video game in its latest issue. If you don't have any subscriptions, you can just get it come April 10.

But to give you a preview, OXM mentioned that PGR4 is hugely promising, a proper sequel with cool new toys. Before this, there's only a few details known about the title. Even its estimated time of arrival is still quite far off, winter of 2007 to be exact. Aside from that, we've only seen just one video trailer and known about a Peugeot-sponsored car model making contest.

We will stop teasing you now and tell you the updates. The following information were taken directly from OXM:
  • Enhanced Weather Simulation: "One of the slickest new features in PGR is its weather. Bizarre's using what it likes to call 'extreme weather' for more than just making the sky gray. Water beads up beautifully on all the gorgeous paintjobs, spray jets out from the tires, and in the in-car view, wipers move and windshields ice up."
  • Enhanced Raceway Environments: "A TV-style intro sets up each event, with a commentator offering wisdom. Choppers buzz overhead, camera crews and video vans are everywhere, and hordes of fans line the track. They'll wear gear with your logo, wave your national flag, and react far more obviously to your performance."
  • Extended Car Selection: "PGR4 will deliver a much broader set of vehicles, ranging from a vintage '63 Corvette Sting Ray and the '54 Maserati 250F to the sleek, ultra-modern Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.
  • On the tracks: You won't want to miss out on your viewing time with PGR4's tracks, which tally up to 200-plus in 10 locations."
  • On Xbox Live initiatives: "PGR4's cooking up a mysterious new matchmaking system (like Halo 2's)."
  • On in-car view: "Bizarre has two key improvements in the works. You'll now see drivers moving more- feeding the wheel as they zip through turns or pumping their fist after a win. Special effects will also crank up the tension in key moments. You'll get a shake effect at high speeds, and your vision will blur after spending some quality time with a wall."
Hugely promising is nothing but a very accurate description of PGR4. We really can't wait for this title and to compensate, we will be sure to grab that OXM issue. Be sure to get your copy as well, ok?
