Major Xbox announcement tomorrow - Image 1Microsoft will conduct a major Xbox announcement tomorrow (June 5, Tuesday) according to Xbox and Xbox Live Product Manager Aaron Greenberg. The heads-up was given to Gamertag Radio's co-host and co-founder Godfree.

Talking to the host via IM, Greenberg's exact words were "We have a secret unveil for gamers around the world that I think will go down in video game history." Quite unfortunately, the MS official was playing tease as he wouldn't divulge anything else to Godfree.

While no other information on this announcement is currently available, we can derive some speculations if we follow the product manager's whereabouts. Aaron Greenberg is currently in New York to attend the Pac-Man World Championships.

What's interesting is that the original creator of the classic game will also be in attendance.

The major announcement, according to Greenberg, will be made at the said event.

What bomb has the potential to rock the Xbox community?

Bullet Witch - Image 1

Its been recently announced over at Gamertag Radio that if you preorder the Bullet Witch game at your local retail store you'll get a free comic of the game. Gamertag Radio will be getting a few copies to giveaway for their 2nd anniversary special during the month of February 2007.

Looking at the inside art (some pages below) it seems that its safe to say that the book is worth the preorder. The lines are clean, the violence is graphic, and the witch is hot. Yeah, it may not be award winning stuff, but its bright, colorful, bloody fun. We'll now have to wait and see if the game is of the same vein.

What we're curious about now is this: How come the comic has an ESRB rating?

It's a cause I wholly support. You should, too.For all whatever vitriol came out after we posted that entire "risk of porn on your networked console" article, sometimes we forget there are things that are much worse. Gamertag Radio comments on a recent story of a child kidnapper, and how Gamertagpics.com found that he owns a Gamertag on Xbox Live (and also a Gamertagpics account).

People often criticize social networks like MySpace as potential targets for stalkers, child abusers, and kidnappers, but people also forget that Xbox Live, along with PlayStation Network and WiiConnect24, are social networks, too.

The temperature in the room went down five degrees as I wrote that.

The kidnapper, Michael Devlin of St. Louis, became the primary suspect of the kidnapping of a 13-year old kid. When police arrived to search Devlin's apartment, they were shocked to find another boy, now fifteen, who was declared missing four years ago by his family. Gamertagpics found that it was the fifteen year old's pic that was used as the pic for the Gamertag of the 41-year old Devlin.

Before some unkind commenter/s decides to post wild and wholly untrue theories of his own about this, we must gravely note what the police have analyzed all data pertaining to this situation, as based on a CNN report. Apprently, Devlin's prior rap sheet only showed traffic violations, and none of his co-workers noticed anything odd about his behavior.

Eternity's Child

Eternity's Child was one of the first few games that were created using the XNA toolset. The game's beautiful 2D graphics and fun gameplay had fans wondering if it would ever make it to the Xbox Live Arcade, but its status as an upcoming XBLA game was denied by XBLA head Ross Erickson in October. While this caused fans to weep a bit, there's still some light at the end of the tunnel.

Godfree from Gamertag Radio recently asked Luc Bernard, the brains behind Eternity's Child, about the game's current status. Bernard replied that he had already signed an NDA and is currently in the process of getting everything official. Judging by the "Coming this year for the Xbox Live Arcade" announcement that we saw today on the game's official website, we guess everything has finally become official.

There you have it, guys, another new title to look forward to this year. If you don't have the foggiest idea about Eternity's Child, read on for a little background info.
  • 1 player game only
  • all characters animated by hand like old 2d Disney movies
  • all the game is 2D
  • orchestral soundtrack
  • Eternity's Child is just a tentative title
  • the story is going to be a fairy tale for adults
  • the gameplay is not going to be a revolution but a normal 2D platformer, what I am mainly working on is a game that anyone can pick up and play and escape to another world and have fun as well as well as touching them emotionally.
If you want to try the game for yourself, there's a mobile version available for free at eternityschild.com. Also, give the screenshots below a quick peek.

Praise the Lloyd!

Geez... I just disappear for three days after falling into the time-space warp known as Final Fantasy XII, and when I get back, the miracle of miracles happens! We've been nominated for Gamertag Radio's Xbox Community Awards 2006!

Praise the Lloyd!

The fellows at Gamertag Radio placed our 360 blog in the running for Xbox News Site of the Year and we're honored for the recognition they've given us. Now, we're up for some competition, seeing as we're pitted against IloveXBLA, OntheXbox, Xbox360fanboy, Xbox365, and Xblarcade, but that just means we're all being seen as important members of the 360 community.
What we'd really like from you guys now is to show your support by voting for us. Just register with the Gamertag Radio forums and then choose our website for their poll on News Site of the Year. It's that simple.

What'll we get if we win? Probably nothing, but the Lloyd Almighty will be pleased that we're doing our best to give you guys the latest news and unrelated nonsense, and your support will definitely be appreciated not only by us, but by the Xbox community at large.

Why? Because it's the readers of each and every site that make the community what it is: the great first-post extravaganza of love and fragging. Now, go forth and praise the Lloyd, and don't forget to vote!

Ironic that this article's title begins with "This is the DigitalLife" when this game is about the extermination, the obliteration, the annihilation, and otherwise the just plain killing of the digital life. Yep, it's the Midway Games classic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for XBLA, taken - and played - by godfree for Gamertag Radio during the DigitalLife conference in New York.

As seen from the options menu at the start of the video, there's the classic single-player campaign, the two-player kombat option, and a four-player, two-on-two fatality mashup. Well, we don't see that right now - instead, it's single player with Scorpion vs. Reptile.

And we only get to see one round of battle (no Fatalities to see? *Whine*), but it looks like the classic blood-soaker we've all come to know and... well, appreciate for all its gore. Can't wait to try out the four-player mode, though, that should be murder (pun intended).

(And you might want to pay attention at 0:53 and 1:00 of the vid clip. Not every day you see a brunette that draws the eyes as much as the vid game. For a moment she almost - not completely, just almost - looked like the brunette Mandy Moore. And this opinion isn't coming from she who said that the Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic Team guy looked like Jet Li).
