Sweet! 6,000 zombies on screen and now multiplayer too? Yummy. Yes, after some confusion at GDC, turns out Dead Rising 2 will be getting multiplayer after all. This was confirmed by series creator Keiji Inafune last week at Captivate '09, but the now question is: what type of multiplayer will it be? Left 4 Dead Rising 2, ey?

Finally, your own IMAX at home! Stereoscopic 3D tech is now confirmed to head for the PS3 and Mac platforms, care of Next3D. They're going to release their 3D movie player software for free, right about the same time they launch their 3D movie service. Some of you have seen it in action as a preview back in CES and GDC, but now it's set in stone. Just as long as your TV is 3D-ready and you got those Shutter glasses, you guys will be able to watch 1080p HD 3D movies on your PS3s and Macs, and eventually, the Xbox 360 too.

Is there a LEGO Rock Band in the works? If we're going to base our answer on the recently-concluded GDC presentation of Harmonix senior designer Dan Teasdale, the answer would be no. However, if we are going to base it on his should-have-been presentation, that's quite a different matter altogether.

 "Don't think about Fable 2 as an RPG franchise -- think about it as the world of Albion," so said Peter Molyneux at the recent GDC. So does this mean that we might as well not expect it to be an RPG? He did not give a specific picture for that, but it would be safe to surmise that that would be the case. Fresh from the press release mailbox is the success from the recently-concluded Game Developers Conference. The press release came with the heading, "2009 Game Developers Conference Once Again Serves As Focal Point For Worldwide Videogame Industry," plus a few stats on this year's events that made the whole thing, in their words, a "week of learning, networking, and inspiration."

Guess I spoke too soon. Apparently, the multiplayer mode for Capcom's Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) has not yet been confirmed. Officially, at least. Details in the full article.

If you're waiting like crazy for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to drop, then stop. It's not coming. Now if all you're waiting for is Modern Warfare 2, though, then you're alright. OK, so what does this pointless exercise in semantics mean? Well, apparently Infinity Ward has chosen to drop the "Call of Duty" name from their follow-up to 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). With something cast off comes something new though: in this case, a confirmation of the game's worldwide release date.

We've got an exceptionally news-filled week for issue #65 of the QuickJump QuickPeek, thanks in part (a whole lot) to the recently-concluded GDC that happened in San Francisco.
