Dead Rising 2 - Image 1Guess I spoke too soon. Apparently, the multiplayer mode for Capcom's Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) has not yet been confirmed. Officially, at least. Details in the full article.

Modern Warfare 2 - Image 1If you're waiting like crazy for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to drop, then stop. It's not coming. Now if all you're waiting for is Modern Warfare 2, though, then you're alright. OK, so what does this pointless exercise in semantics mean? Well, apparently Infinity Ward has chosen to drop the "Call of Duty" name from their follow-up to 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). With something cast off comes something new though: in this case, a confirmation of the game's worldwide release date.

QuickJump QuickPeek - Image 1We've got an exceptionally news-filled week for issue #65 of the QuickJump QuickPeek, thanks in part (a whole lot) to the recently-concluded GDC that happened in San Francisco. There were a lot of announcements and revelations, both inspiring and jaw-dropping alike. Yep, it's looking like it's gonna be yet another good year for gaming.

Xbox 360 Weekend Warrior - Image 1The recently-concluded GDC 09 in San Francisco yielded a lot of interesting news about the gaming world. That excitement apparently flowed over to our Xbox 360 blog as we got a fair share of cool news and updates. We've got the people of Halo 3 doing a back-and-forth with whether or not there'll be more content for the franchise, the dismal and disappointing launch of the exclusive XBL DLC for Fallout 3, The Pitt, as well as some mahayjor drama in the MS offices, with an employee suing for homophobic discrimination, BBC pwning MS for the disc-scratching issue, and more.

Dead Rising 2 - Image 1Are 6,000 zombies not enough for you? Or is it a task too daunting for one man alone? If you're thinking more of the latter, then here's some good news: apparently, Blue Castle is readying that number for Dead Rising 2's multiplayer mode.

Mass Effect 2Yes, today is now officially "leaked footage from GDC" day with yet another addition to the growing stack. This is the first time we actually get to see gameplay for Mass Effect 2 in action. Yeah, the video here shows an ME2 in its early builds, but that's still fine. We see combat, we see some level design... we're even given a glimpse of some dialogue too! Check it out:

Dead Rising 2Ever since we finally got confirmation of Dead Rising 2, we never really had much news for it. That's ok though since the Blue Castle devs showed up in the GDC. There, they discussed the technology behind their upcoming zomebie game, with character art lead Izmeth Siddeek saying that they're taking great effort to push the barriers of rendering huge numbers of objects on-screen at a given time. What's their goal though? 6000 zombies on-screen? It's not as high as Goku's power level, but damn, that's still a huge number!

Blizzard - Image 1It looks like Blizzard is stirring the pot again for some juicy developments behind the scenes. As some of us probably know, they're currently working on a couple games right now (StarCraft II, Diablo III, etc.). If these two new job postings are any indication though, they're now planning to jumpstart development on an entirely new - and unannounced! - game. With details scarce at the moment, it could be anything right now: a new IP, a new MMO, or maybe a console RTS?

Halo 3 - Image 1It ain't over till it's over. Two years after the release of the Xbox 360 blockbuster Halo 3, Bungie Software isn't done working on it. Allan Murray said at the ongoing GDC, "Halo 3 took two and half years to make, and we're still working on it." And it appears that by the time they do finish with the game, you'd have earned yourself a full college degree already.
