Goichi Suda, or Suda51 to others, revealed in an interview that Grasshopper Manufacture is indeed working on an action game for Microsoft's Xbox 360, as stated during the TGS 2007. The 360 video game should emerge after No More Heroes for the Nintendo Wii hits shelves, and we'll find out if plans to go multiplatform with the title will materialize.
Tecmo announced Suda51's crew as the guys in charge of Fatal Frame 4 for Nintendo's console, but another project is also in the works. The 360 title will be an action game at heart, but adventure elements will be present according to Suda. Speaking of No More Heroes, Suda51 mentioned how earlier action games on the Nintendo Wii have failed to make full use of motion sensing controls. His team aims to break the tradition with their GTA-esque title, as Suda51 believes Grasshopper Manufacture is close to finding the best way of using Wii controls. He goes on to talk about developing games for a western audience before putting the Japanese in mind, Nintendo's image barring most action games from appearing on the Wii, and more of his ideas in the video interview below. |

If you own a 360 and are clamoring for more games similar to Goichi Suda's (or Suda 51) Killer 7 or No More Heroes, here's some good news for you: Grasshopper Studios is working on a game for Microsoft's Xbox 360.Suda 51 didn't say anything much about this upcoming 360 title, not even what its about, but he confirmed that it's going to be a full game and is not an Xbox Live Arcade download. At least we're assured that it's going to be a full masterpiece. How about No More... Killer7s, then? Suda 51's latest title for the Wii, as we have reported before, will be out soon in Japan and is slated for a February 2008 release in North America. You can count on us to keep you guys posted once we get more information about Suda 51's upcoming game. Till then, more updates to come! |

1UP's Yoshi Sato reports that in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, Goichi Suda, more famously known as Suda 51, president of Grasshopper Manufacture, revealed that the mysterious Project S that he and Hideo Kojima are working on will be a series of projects based on Hideo Kojima's classic adventure game Snatcher.Ah, so that's why it's "S." The first project will be a radio drama written by Suda 51. Interestingly, Suda 51 will also be one of the drama's voice actors. He comments that he can't talk about the details surrounding the project at the moment (as expected) but he does say that he thinks he will call it Snatchers. Ah, plural means sequel, yes? Still no info on what other formats that projects in Project S will take, but given the names attached to the project we all hope that a videogame is included among them. |

It's a one-two hit combo for Western Australia as the Asia Pacific region celebrates gaming over at Perth. The GO3 Electronic Entertainment Expo, or GO3 Expo for short, was launched by the Minister for Industry and Enterprise Francis Logan at the Perth Convention Exhibition Center, as detailed from an official press release.
With the Asian, Europe, and Oceanic game industry's gaming icons to participate in the event as guest speakers, the three day affair will showcase the industry's games, game hobbyists' leisurely activities, network communication and computer technology. So from March 30 to April 1, expect attendees to be able to try out games from the promotional demonstrations sported by game developers. Not just focusing on computers, consoles will also be making a scheduled arrival at the event, with Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 demo booths to be available to excited Aussie gamers. So you could expect their little handheld cousins aren't far behind either. The region's industry celebrities, government officials, and high profile media, including but not limited to MTV and Famitsu, will be joining gaming giants in making this uniquely positioned event a great success. Guest speakers include:
The GO3 LAN Party will also take place at the event. For 30 hours, over 600 attendees can relive the glory LAN party days and boast their talent against their seatmates' hand-and-eye-coordination skills. This is probably one of the largest network gaming setups ever attempted in Australia. Also making a peep show is the GO3 Cos-Play Competition just to showcase the huge subculture phenomenon in the Asian region. The competition will allow the best game-character to win an all-expense paid trip to the 2007 Tokyo Game Show. Next up is the Nullarbor Game Development Competition, where budding game dev enthusiasts and serious students around Australia can present their work to a large crowd. Visitors interested will be able to demo the games and vote for their favorite ones, allowing the best ones to bring home cash and prizes. And last but not least is the Dance Dance Revolution Competition, where Australia's best footwork masters duel it out to win more cash and prizes, plus get immortalized as the GO3 "DDR Champion 2007." |
