Happy Halloween! That new Saw V movie comes out this weekend; are any of you guys planning to catch it? If not, maybe you'd want to play it instead? Folks waiting for the Saw game will have another year's worth of waiting to do though. With the release of the new movie, Brash Entertainment has re-released a previous press release (dating back to January 2008, wot wot?) to remind everyone that Saw will be heading to the PS3 and Xbox 360 come October 2009. Third time's the charm for Microsoft. The latest numbers from Japan show that the Xbox 360 has once again outsold the PlayStation 3 for the third week running. And crunching some numbers reveal that the Xbox 360 outsold the PlayStation 3 for the entire month of September.

It's a little too early for Christmas miracles, so I'd say this is... a Halloween miracle?

You know it's a great survival-horror game if it got itself banned in three countries. It seems Electronic Arts' Dead Space packs a bit too much gory punch as it's been banned in Germany, Japan, and China. Well now I really want to get my hands on the game already.

Street dates usually are pushed back, not moved up. But EA seems to be raring to go with their multiplatform third-person action adventure Dead Space(PC,PS3 and Xbox 360) that they've decided to ship the game earlier than originally expected -- again.

Via press wire, Electronic Arts has finally dated its upcoming survival horror video game Dead Space (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC). If you haven't heard of this game just imagine movies such as Event Horizon, Alien, and The Thing. Now place yourself in the leading character's shoes and you're there. It's been a few days since Halloween, so we'd rather honor the most memorable deaths that made gamers shriek, throw tantrums, and cry. Of course, along the line are deaths so dramantic, shocking, or simply sad that they're difficult to forget. In other words, a list of characters who died in ways that scarred our minds, or those we felt so attached to that seeing them perish became emotional. If it's not obvious enough, we'll have to warn you about major spoilers that await.

Here's the video media for day 2 and day 3 of the Happy Halloween surprise for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3, 360, PC), an event that leads up to the last seven days before the game's release.

The first video is a look at the game's ability to change the lighting and post FX on the fly. You'll even see part of a level where the sun sets and rises as you play through it. The second video shows a sort of slideshow on the making of the Overgrown level of CoD 4.

With Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare release date set in less than a week's time, Infinity Ward is now offering gamers a little Halloween surprise to herald the final week before the game goes live.

We're not going to give out any details about the video below since anything we say will just probably spoil it. Suffice it to say that any aspiring CoD 4 war heroes should take care when trying to do recon duty alone on any burning farmlands they come across in the game.

The video itself is a countdown to the last seven days before CoD4's November 5 release on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 (this includes the limited edition CoD 4 release on the same day). In retrospect, it's nice to know that coders of a supposedly serious game can take the time to kick back and poke fun at themselves.

Seeing that the video is the first of seven videos in a series, we'll be keeping our eye out for the rest of the videos over at the Infinity Ward website.
