Despite the lackluster appeal of movie adaptations of video games, super Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer remains positive that one day, they just might get it right. And it won't suck the living daylights out of us anymore.

Calling 2D fighting "a lost art," Shane Bettenhausen of Ignition Entertainment took the opportunity to ramp up publicity for King of Fighters XII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), the latest in the SNK Playmore 2D-fighting franchise. There aren't many 2D fighters out there anymore, with the exception of a few loyal franchises, and King of Fighters is one of the last ones standing. With its release, King of Fighters XII will be duking it out with younger fighters in the industry, so let's see how the veteran will make his move.

After last week's rather paltry offerings, we finally get a hefty bunch of new releases. The PSP gets the shaft again this week with no releases, followed by the PC which has only one actual playable new game out. OK, there are two PC titles in the list, but come on. Hannah Montana? Meanwhile, the DS gets more than the usual amount of good games. Really, there are only a couple of shovelware titles in there. Usually they make up like 60% of the DS list. As if to show the Duke's fans what they've been missing out on for years, a video surfaces with gameplay footages from notorious vaporware Duke Nukem Forever. It's a bloody futuristic FPS, featuring the attitude and the nudity - all in Duke Nukem fashion. Check it out.

The government of UK has made it known that they're apparently not a fan of racing simulation games such Gran Turismo. According to a government-backed report, these games are responsible for creating "a cachet of excitement and glamour around speeding."

It won't be the first time if we found out that more Ubisoft's IPs are gonna hit the big screen. For instance, Far Cry and Prince of Persia have already gone Hollywood. This time, the publisher is eyeing two more franchises to hand over for movie directors to play with - Assassin's Creed, and Splinter Cell.

Vin Diesel has made a reputation of being one of Hollywood's sickest action stars, with tough, bad-ass roles in movies such as The Fast and The Furious, the upcoming Fast and Furious, and of course, The Chronicles of Riddick. But did you know that this hardcore superstar was once a D&D geek? My respect for the guy just shot through the roof.

Stranglehold, the video game which served as a sequel to the 1992 movie Hard Boiled, is getting a movie adaptation, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Few games deserve a movie as much as Stranglehold does.
