AO - Image 1D-Dub Software, a video game studio specializing in adult-themed games that involve a lot of *ahem* explicit sex and nudity (i.e. BoneTown, a PC game which makes GTA's Hot Coffee mod look not-so-Hot-after-all), is waging war against the ESRB and the three major console manufacturers. Since D-Dub can't market their game out in the open, they're now on a mission to take the first step in what they hope to be an eventual "adult video game industry" of their own making.

German Activist Calls EA a Pig of a Company, EA Reacts - Image 1 Who needs Jack Thompson when you have entertainment like this? At a conference in Munich, the sister of an outspoken critic against video game violence called EA a "pig of a company." EA's PR guy says he's glad he wasn't able to go to the conference at all since it would obviously have been a waste of his time.

Pigs the world over unanimously agree that they don't care.

Violent Video Games Affect Boys' Biological Systems, Study Finds - Image 1A new study is out on the effect of violent video games. Unlike other studies though, this one doesn't offer conclusions like "violent video games is teh evilz." Their study only offers what the data says: violent video games has a higher effect on heart rate than non-violent ones, lasting even into sleep.

California Looking To Revive Violent Video Game Law - Image 1This Wednesday, California will be pitching the old anti-violent video game law to the Court of Appeals. This is the same law that received an injunction last year when it was ruled to be a threat to free-speech rights. This would probably get out of hand if Jack Thompson still had a say. It'll be more amusing though.
