A sequel for Assassin's Creed was always expected, and hints have popped up here and there. Now, we have confirmation that it really is in the works. Not exactly formal as far as confirmation from studios go, but you take what you can get. Details after the link.

The MTV Game Awards 2008 has wrapped up and you wouldn't guess which one got the Game of the Year award. Come on, guess. Grand Theft Auto 4? Natch. This year they also gave their first ever Lifetime Achievement Game Award to Hideo Kojima. Well and truly deserved.

So, it turns out that the rumor which suggested Ubisoft will be debuting an IP in E3 2008 is true. I Am Alive has indeed surfaced with a nice trailer and a bleak setting. The only question left now is whether or not Jade Raymond will be working on it. Keep your fingers crossed, fellas. The video comes after the jump.

Ubisoft's Jade Raymond is reportedly going to get real busy again real soon. She's supposedly going to work on a new game called I am Alive developed by Dark Works and it will be shown in this year's E3. The rest of the details follow after the jump.

Remember Hideo Kojima and Jade Raymond's interview from a few months back? Well, we might have been musing about them coming up with a Metal Gear Solid - slash - Assassin's Creed hybrid, and now... well... Let's just say we're pretty amused. In this gameplay video, we see Altair running around a familiar-looking war zone, carrying his own rifle and trying to fight a couple of... nah. Sorry. No spoilers. Anyways, though the video appears to not take itself seriously (clue: April 1, 2008), you can't help but think if there's actually more than meets the eye...

When you've got some important projects coming up, its important to aim high and go for broke. In Ubisoft's case, the company has raised its fiscal 2007-2008 guidance. For whatever reason people might derive about its success,  Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) has surpassed sales expectations and currently ranks as one of the top-selling PlayStation 3 software titles to date.
