Square Enix - Image 1Square Enix has published a press release outlining all of their titles to roll out in North America during the first quarter of 2009. Some of them have already been confirmed before, while other titles get actual confirmation today of a western localization. Just to name a couple, we got the likes of Opera Vectra and Valkyrie in the list. But who's MIA from the Q1 2009 lineup though? If you're one to hope for some titles, sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Square Enix at TGS 2008 - Image 1At the Tokyo Game Show, Cloud and Terra were finally announced to be the missing members of the Dissidia roster. Though I'm not particularly surprised. What else is Square Enix up to down at TGS? Well how about a customized PSP-3000 with a Dissidia theme? Check out shots of the handheld in the full article.

Square Enix releases detailed TGS 2008 booth map - Image 1What's the Tokyo Game Show without Square Enix? It just won't be the same. Squeenix has released details of the booth at the event. Jeez I wish I was going. They're coming with demos of several games, including ones for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts games, and also Dissidia: Final Fantasy. They even have a Chrono Trigger museum. Sweet. More details after the link!

FF13So what do Japanese gamers these days want to get their hands on the most? The latest list of most wanted games from Famitsu reveals a heavy leaning towards RPGs (mostly from Square Enix - no surprise there), with a healthy dose of other games from different genres, publishers, and platforms. See the Top 15 Famitsu Most Wanted list in the full article.

Final Fantasy XIII - Image 1In a recent interview, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase, talks on some of the specifics for the command systems of the three games that comprise Final Fantasy XIII. Now if you've been following news on the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, then most of what Kitase says will already be familiar to you, but let this serve as a refresher course. QuickJump QuickPeek 58 - Image 1August is a month full of events. And that's with or without a Large Hadron Collider accidentally ending the world. For one, there's Square Enix's DKS3713 event that just recently concluded - lots of news there - and guess what? A chance to win 300 bucks in our very own PSP homebrew contest! QuickPeek 58 is about to roll in with a band of merry Warriors and a mutant-pig!

DKS3713 - REMAKE 7 - Square Enix remakes FF7? - Image 1After the media blitz from the DKS3713 event of Square Enix, things have been rather slow. And if you're still holding out for that big FF7 announcement - which I think is already covered when they announced that FF7ACC will include the FF13 demo - then here's something you might want to see. I do warn you though, it's nothing but a rumor - more of fan art, even. But I'll nonetheless share it with you guys. Time for anagram lessons.

And it's high time we celebrate (i.e. geek out on) this iconic character that's been around through the ages. Join us for a look back on the life and times of Cid. Are you sure you know them all? We got a chain-smoking pilot and a frog - there's also the guy in the Mega Man suit and even one that looks like Robin Williams. Think you're a Cid buff? Well, it's time to celebrate twenty years of Final Fantasy!

QuickJump QuickPeek 57 - Image 1QuickJump QuickPeek 57 is here with all the nitty-gritty news from last week. A rumored new model for the PSP (which I'd playfully dub as the PSP Slim & Probably-Case-Modded Lite - who knows?), some talk of PS3 Trophies, new XBL content, improving the Wii Friend Code system, and well, dead penguins. *teardrops* Oh, right! And our Comment of the Week section also took quite a toll - ha!, talk about waxing rhetorics dialogues...

Aces of the Galaxy: a QJ.Net review - Image 1We recently sat down to have a look at Artech Studios' Aces of the Galaxy. Set in the vastness of space, it's a rail shooter that hopes to excite folks with its brand of frenetic rail-shooting, cluster bombs and torpedoes galore, within the scope of a battle between two different races. The question is, did Aces of the Galaxy bring on the excitement? Find out after the jump!
