Before, gamers were criticizing studios for influencing game reviews in order to sell more games. Recently though, it seems there's a growing trend for gamers to try and influence game reviews and scores themselves out of loyalty to their own platforms.

Edge Online recently got flamed for their 6/10 review of Resistance 2. In response, they ask, "What are reviews for?"

Earlier this year, Capcom was sued by the firm handling George A. Romero's zombie films, the MKR Group. The lawsuit accused Dead Rising of being too similar to Dawn of the Dead. Now, a Judge has ruled that the lawsuit can be dismissed because MKR simply can't sue Capcom for something that isn't protected. Meanwhile, Capcom may have won the case, but at a rather sour note, the Judge also gave quite a stinging remark about the game.

By the end of November, Microsoft expects the Xbox 360's install base to exceed 25 million, effectively going past the lifetime sales of the original Xbox. Quite a landmark, but Microsoft said that it's "only a start."

Michael Pachter has returned with his crystal ball to give us a glimpse... of the past! Dun dun dunnnnn.

Pachter has given us his predictions for the month of October ahead of the official numbers, saying that the Wii will still dominate. Obvious enough, but what's this? He also believes that the Xbox 360 outsold the PlayStation 3. More after the link.

It's not quite the holiday seasons yet, but it looks like the Xbox 360 got an early hit in against the PlayStation 3. Gears of War 2 debuted at the top of the UK's software charts, getting the one-up against LittleBigPlanet, which also debuted in the same week.

Looks like sackboys have nothing on Niko Bellic. Grand Theft Auto IV and LittleBigPlanet both launched on the same week in Japan, and it's pretty clear who the winner is. The PlayStation 3 version of GTA IV sold more than twice LittleBigPlanet did. Also worth noting that the PS3 version of GTA IV sold almost 4 times the Xbox 360 version did.

Speaking on the impending release of Gears of War 2 in just a few days, Microsoft's Phil Spencer claims that the Xbox 360 has "led the industry with the best lineup of blockbuster video games" in each holiday season.

Suddenly, the sound of angry sackboys can be heard growling in the distance.

Analyst Jesse Divnich, who made a booboo predicting that the Xbox 360 price cut will affect sales of the PlayStation 3, now wants to make another point: console exclusives decrease sales of competing consoles. Interesting. More after the link.
