Dead Rising follows one scoop-hungry freelance photographer's journey, into a town where the only things hungry are its inhabitants that have become zombies. Frank West, trudges into the depths of Willamette Parkview Mall in pursuit of the scoop of a lifetime.Armed only with his camera and various objects that he picks up at the mall, Frank battles zombies while trying to get the perfect shot. The object of the game is for him to take the best photo of someone being eaten alive, battling the undead or a family reunited in the thick of the bloodshed, in order for him to gain "prestige points." This also works as a level up for him, as he gets bonus points like additional life bar, weapon slot or combat skill. Apart from main story missions, that will gain you access to more powerful weapons in the game, there are also mini games known as "scoops" that he has to accomplish to get more points and of course quality pictures. Also, try to take full advantage of the location. The mall is a very good place to shop for weapons, like CD cases that can be thrown at zombies like shurikens, a bucket that can be put over an enemy's head; and since it's the football season, a soccer ball, it may not be deadly, but it would sure be a lot of fun toppling over a corpse. Frank can also get some materials in the mall to improve his skills as a photographer, like books or instructional magazines. Dead Rising is scheduled for release in North America this August and September in Europe. Thanks to Vecha for the heads up.

The creator of the fake Grand Theft Auto IV screenshot is... Imagine Publishing. It's definitely them, because if you received the email from the "disgruntled Rockstar employee" with the fake GTA IV screenshot, have a look in the email header. It was sent from here. If you go to that site, you'll see the mail server the email was sent from is: mail.imagine-publishing.co.uk. Imagine Publishing has many magazines under its name. My guess is they just wanted to create a story to be put in their next issue(s). I just can't believe they're that dumb. ![]() I admit it was pretty well done in Photoshop, and although it has already been confirmed to be fake before, this once again debunks this stupid thing. Some real screenshots would be nice. GTA IV is expected in stores in North America on 16 October 2007 and in Europe on 19 October 19 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. |

EA today officially (it has been in magazines though) announced the upcoming multiplatformer (available on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, but also PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, NDS, GBA, PSP
and PC) Need for Speed: Carbon along with some new screenshots. The game will be a mix of Most Wanted and Underground gameplay, so you'll be able to customize your ride as well as escape from the police. The game is set to release November this year. Here are the new next-gen screenshots:

Game Informer Magazine was lucky enough to receive an exclusive Need for Speed Carbon trailer directly from EA. This 60 second trailer gives us a taste of the highly anticipated canyon races that will involve racing through narrow pathways alongside mountains. Need for Speed Carbon is essentially a blend of Underground and Most Wanted, so you can be sure that car customization options and high speed police chases will be available. The final game will feature over 50 cars from three classes including muscle cars, exotics, and tuners, and overall this is looking like it will be yet another great release from EA.Download: [Need for Speed Carbon Trailer] |
