Marvel Comics is slated to come up with its Halo Uprising series this July, and the hype is obviously being upped by Stan's boys. How? Well, characters across the Marvel Universe have been talking about it profusely.

In Avengers: The Initiative #2 and Ms. Marvel #15, the game was mentioned more than once. As War Machine puts it when he hands over a pulse rifle to teammate Cloud9, he instructs her with "It's just like playing Halo. Just point and click."

The source says that scans will probably be uploaded in a few days, so let's watch out for that. The next thing you know, Galactus himself will cross over to the Halo storyline and eat everyone up to end the war and seal the peace - eternally.

Bruce Lee - Image 1To date, the leader in most consoles sold in this generation of gaming is Microsoft's Xbox 360. Combining its audiovisual processing power, slick controls and an edgy design, the console has won the hearts of many gamers worldwide. The common mantra in the gaming world is that "games will make or break a game system," but in the case of the 360, the hardware also had a lot to do with the success.

Fast Company came up with an interesting feature story detailing how Team Xbox came up with the design for the new console. The story is a remarkable one indeed, as there were three firms hired to propose a vision that will guide the creation of the game machine. There was Landor, The creative force behind Windows and FedEx, JDK of Vermont and Turner Duckworth from the UK.

First on the plate was Michael Jager of JDK. Likening the original Xbox to the green behemoth Hulk from the Marvel comics, he explained that in this age, "X' signifies danger from within rather than brute, unadulterated force. The new one, Jager said, should be more like Bruce Lee - speedy, light and hard-hitting.

Using theatrics and visuals, Jager captivated Microsoft's 20-man board and drilled home his point. The rest was history as the jury sat idly while passing time with the next two presenters. What started as a simple analogy at a Washington board room became the battle cry of the hardware design team. In late 2005, the world drooled over the 360 at Microsoft's Zero Hour launch.

The New York Comic Con played host to the announcement recently that Marvel has finally decided on who will be handling creative duties on their upcoming monthly Halo comic book.

Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Joe Quesada revealed at a NYCC panel this weekend that the creative team for the Halo comic will be composed of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Alex Maleev. Both are best known for their recent and critically-acclaimed run on the Daredevil comic. In case you're still wondering about these guys' credentials, consider the fact that they won an Eisner for the said Daredevil run.

The Halo comic book is reportedly slated for a Summer 2007 launch. Unfortunately, no art was shown at the panel. Keep checking back here on QJ for more updates.
