MTV Games has spoken out about the lawsuit filed against them, as well as Viacom, Harmonix and EA for allegedly profiting off of their defective Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) drum pedals. The MTV Game Awards 2008 has wrapped up and you wouldn't guess which one got the Game of the Year award. Come on, guess. Grand Theft Auto 4? Natch. This year they also gave their first ever Lifetime Achievement Game Award to Hideo Kojima. Well and truly deserved.

Monte Morgan from Kansas claims that Harmonix and co. not only know that there is a defect in Rock Band's  (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) drum kit pedals but are actively trying to profit off of it. He hired a team of lawyers to put his grievances into writing and slapped Harmonix, EA, MTV and Viacom with a class action lawsuit.

Just yesterday, Activision announced that Guitar Hero: World Tour will be getting some DLC tracks from The Killers. Don't look now, but Rock Band's getting the same treatment! Not losing a step in the race, MTV has now also revealed that three tracks from The Killers are headed their way to the Rock Band music store - on the very same date as World Tour's The Killers DLC: November 25. Ha!

Here come the Beatles, and are they coming to Rock Band? Gamasutra received an invite to a major presscon tomorrow with Harmonix owners MTV and Beatles rights holder Apple Corps. Industry speculation has it that they'll be announcing a partnership for Rock Band.
