If you've been pretty pissed about NBA 2K9 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) crashing left and right, you'll need this patch. Unfortunately, you'll be missing out on two basketball game titles this year from Electronic Arts. It's just been confirmed - via EA Sports president Peter Moore, no less - that the NBA Street  (Xbox 360, PS3, PSP) series is on "official hiatus". Meanwhile, NBA Ballers (Xbox 360, PS3) seem to be also in a bit of a jam.

Have you guys noticed that platforms seem to have a new strategy of grabbing exclusive downloadable content for games? Well, the strategy worked for the Xbox 360 when they bagged exclusive DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV. One analyst says that this is just the beginning. Eventually, exclusive DLC might become the latest battlefield among the consoles.

Studios and publishers don't benefit from the sales of used games, just ones fresh off the shelves. Finding a way around this, three new games are offering exclusive content - but only once per copy of the game. Meaning that if you want the exclusive content, you'll have to buy yourself a new copy. I hope this trend doesn't catch on.

2K Sports has released some in-game footage of the upcoming NBA 2K9 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). The video shows off the graphical improvements they've made to the game, and it certainly does look pretty good. Video after the jump.
