consoles - Image 1Wanna know who the top-billers are for NPD's October sales charts? You don't have to look further, cos we have it right here. On the software front, as expected, Nathan Drake and company spearheads the pack with their second round of adventure in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Meanwhile, on the hardware front, the Nintendo platforms continue to rule, but the PS3 also moved some impressive units, presumably because of Uncharted 2.

The original Lufia for SNES - Image 1Famitsu.com has broken the news on a new entry in Taito's Estpolis series. If the name doesn't ring a bell, the series was released outside Japan as "Lufia". The new game will be called Estpolis: The Land Cursed by the Gods and will be produced by the original game's development staff. Square Enix will be handling publishing duties.

Even analysts say that retail will be overtaken by digital distribution in a mere three years' time. Nintendo's big boss, Satoru Iwata, begs to differ, however. Finally we see a PS3 kicking ass in the sales charts, finally we see another big homebrew breakthrough for the PSP, and finally, it looks like things are definitely looking up for the videogame world in general. PS3 - Image 1The NPD results are out for the month of September, and look at what we have here! A mighty and proud showing of PS3 sales finally taking over the spot beyond the Xbox 360 and the Wii -- for the first time ever. That's not to say that it topped all of the charts, though. A couple hundred thousands more till it successfully topples down the Nintendo DS from its # 1 spot.
